Good question.
I know that a lot of people are posting about wrestlers who call themselves "gorgeous" or "ladies men" who really weren't that great looking, but I don't really count those guys because they were heels and it was supposed to be a joke (although the Ric Flair as a ladies man really caught on. If you have WWE 24/7, watch the old NWA wrestling show and note the reaction that Flair got from the ladies. They went crazy over him!). I think "the Miz" is supposed to fall in that category.
When the E was pushing wrestlers that were supposed to be fan favorite pretty boys, generally, the WWE had it right with the ones that they pushed (Roma and Powers, Martel and Zenk, Martel and Santana), but they did miss the mark on a few. I couldn't see it with the Rockers. But when Shawn Michaels changed his look post-Rockers, oh myyyyyyyyyyyy. I still have that Playgirl centerfold picture on my computer. I also couldn't see it with Edge and Christian or the Hardy Boyz, either.
I'm with you on the Rock and Roll Express. Even in the early 80's, they looked like older men trying desperately to look young, even though they were in their early-to-mid 20s then. They looked creepy to me. They didn't do it for me, but the 8-10 year olds really liked them. The other one was Tommy Rich as the pretty boy. I'm not feeling that, either.
