To be fair, Kane can only grapple a 500 pound guy to a certain extent.
I've seen Kane do a variety of dropkicks and holds, so I know he's pretty capable.

I lost it when Big Show did the roll-through off the hammerlock.
Never in my life did I think I'd use the words "Big Show" and "Roll-through" in the same sentence.

I remember watching this when it first aired and being highly entertained. Puzzled, but entertained. It's even better looking back as JR says "I don't expect this to be a catch-as-catch-can classic, quite frankly" Man, Kane and Big Show were awesome during their time as a tag team.

That was JR's first show back, so I think the two did it mostly as a friendly rib to JR, since that's the kind of match he seems to like to call.

I agree with the last poster, about partners and oneupmanship. Also, partners not wanting to hurt one another.
Also, fans have gotten used to 2 monsters brawling all over the place. Two monsters doing something other than out-monstering one another was novel. When London and Spanky, for example, chain for 5 minutes on TV, it is 'novel' in that chain wrestling between 2 over guys is the focus. But seeing the true monsters do it...something fans don't get to see every day, and neither guy was in a main storyline. "I got to see Kane and Big Show WRESTLE one another." That'd be a pretty cool thing to look back on.

I found this highly entertaining. You can see Show obviously got a kick out of it in the beginning but the gameplan soon changed up when the fans crapped on it.

OK, how about "Big Show" and "Cinnamon roll" in the same sentence? Yeah, the fans took a massive dump on this match, but I really liked it. It was different, legitimately surprised me, and was a good match to boot.

Agreed 200% It was "epic" in a way. The proof that both men can do more than being big, looking scary, and delivering chokeslams And further proof that fans don't care about big men chainwrestling, (or any men chainwrestling for that matter...)

I'm sorry, but these 2 guys have no business whatsoever chainwrestling each other. I only buy it because they were former friends who had a falling out, and perhaps they didn't want to hurt each other so they just mat wrestled.

That was an awesome surprise, the chain wrestling there. People should try to do that more often.

When Kane is with the right opponent, he can wrestle great but at that point in time, wrestling Big Show was like wrestling The Great Khali

I wish they were a regular tag team in 2000 or 2001 when WWF had a helluva tag team division, instead of the 4 or 5 teams that made up Raw.

You were just about the only one on here. I remember after that match people on here started bitching bigtime about TWO PEOPLE TRYING TO WRESTLE lol. Then other people would call them hypocrites and stuff like that. It was like a solid 2 or 3 days or arguing here on the crap....

It was pretty good when I watched it. But the one I liked better was when Big Show and Kane tried to one-up each other beating the shit out of the Heartthrobs. Big Show did a Superplex off the second rope.
