Thought about the attitude era

Is it just me, or did the attitude era have similarities to 80s NWA? Watching the 80S NWA footage on the wwe dvds shows the similarities between the wrestlers then and now:
Austin: Dusty Rhodes
Vince: JJ Dillon
Rock (and val venis for the sexual innuendos): Flair
HHH: Barry Windham (he also had elements of harley race, but they wouldnt manifest themselves fully until the attitude era was over)
Hardyz: Rock n Roll Express
Jericho: Sting
Dudley Boys: Road Warriors (minus the facepaint)
Acolytes: Powers of Pain
E&C: Midnight Express
While some of these are debatable, it does show that the attitude era did have plenty of "old school" despite what the critics said.
