I feel sorry for Punk, he deserves better.

From what I have read it seems WWE Creative basicly told Punk & Miz that they shouldn't expect to be wrestling and that Punk should concentrate on planning a match with Big Daddy V or John Morison. That is why the match started very slow and they looked a little lost in the ring. Seems WWE Creative doesn't know what the fans like... and for one I am not suprized.

Actually just watched it back and in the first minute theres a punk chant. ...edit watching it fully through now and the crowd hasn't crapped on it at all - they're not pumped up by they're somewhat vocal. Over-reaction much. I'm really thinking that some of the people commenting on it haven't even watched the match.

For some reason, the concept behind "Cyber Sunday" never lives up to what you'd think when you here "You get to pick the matches". Honestly, I think it comes at a bad time of the year, everything seems rather "eh" right now.

I think people really aren't interested in ECW, period. The ratings can attest to this.

I read things on here that I just don't see on the screen sometimes.
It's usual reaction to ECW matches on WWE PPVs from what I've seen, it went away for a month or so then came back again.
Which isn't to say the crowd doesn't like the match they're just indifferent to ECW when ECW's not the focus of the show. Unless the reaction on the Sci-Fi show is pumped in/from a select portion of the audience/whatever.
And I liked the match and I liked Cyber Sunday all round.

You think the majority of the crowd chanting for someone who, not only isn't in the match, isn't in THE COMPANY (kayfabe) is a good thing? That means they are NOT interested in the match and the wrestlers they are watching. Did you hear any Y2J chants at ANY other time in the PPV?

Interesting thing I saw was when they were announcing the contestants.
"Will it be Big Daddy V?" *some boos*
"Will it be the Miz?" *some boos*
"Will it be John Morisson?" *decent pop*
Wasn't a huge pop but they actually popped for Morisson a fair bit more than they did when Punk came out for his match.

ECW matches have NEVER gotten decent reactions on PPV.
Punk is more over than the rest of the ECW roster combined, but that doesn't mean that much. Sure he's picking up some steam, but until he's on one of the two "real" shows, it's all speculation about his overness.
Survivor Series 2006 was in Philly, hometown of ECW if I'm not mistaken, so a "smarky" audience wasn't a surprise.
Punk has yet to "make it" in terms of actual and consistent crowd support.

ECW is made to look third string, and so the lethargic "who cares?" types assume it sucks and don't watch it.

Again, all these responses from people who probably didn't pay attention or didn't even watch that match, and then jumping on the bandwagon.
I specifically re-watched it when this thread popped up and I'm telling ya, the crowd didn't crap on that match at all.
