Is there any critera to why anyone becomes a jobber?

I guess you can use Scotty 2 Hotty (post Too Cool) or Funaki (post Kaientai) as criteria for jobbers. Or as I mentioned in another thread HHH in the summer of 1996.

People have lost the meaning of the word jobber. Guys like Val, Funaki, are more like JTTS (Jobbers to the Stars). Real jobbers aren't around much these days, but you can sometimes still see them on Heat. They're the guys with no gimmick or entrance and get little if any offense in. They're usually local indy wrestlers hired for one night to let the superstars dominate them to look good.

They're usually local indy wrestlers hired for one night to let the superstars dominate them to look good. Bingo. A lot of the people here have no idea what they're talking about calling guys like Kane a JTTS. |

While we're defining things, what's an "enhancement talent"?
In old school WWF, there was a clear difference between the true no-names, and guys like Barry Horowitz, Iron Mike Sharpe, Lanny Poffo, SD Jones, etc. Were guys like that jobbers, or were they equivalent to the Funakis and Val Venises of today? I don't think you can use entrances and theme music as the deciding factor then, because no everybody had that stuff.
