The humor was contextual, Santino wasn't saying that AIDS was funny, he was confusing Tom Hanks the actor with his character from Philadelphia.

The thing is, as funny as Santino's promos are, it's going to end with a stunner and beer poured on him and Austin getting a pop. It's really a limited angle that can't really go any further.

Santino NEEDS to somehow go over Austin, even in a cheap way. By somehow having Maria distract Austin long enough for Santino to get in a sucker punch before running away would be the way to go, but I doubt Austin would go for it. |

As much as we pick on the 'E for their crappy booking, they nailed Santino right on. We hated this guy while he was the plucky heel getting squashed by Umaga, and they amped him up to be a hilarious bad guy. That was the best promo I've seen in a while.

Santino's unsaid gimmick should basically be the foreigner who makes valid observations on the absurdities of other WWE performer's gimmicks and catchphrases.
So for example, if the Rock said "turn your head sideways and stick it straight up your candy ass" Santino would come along and say "whatta mean turna head sideaways, thatsa gonna breaka ma neck and tha assa isa too smalla to fita da head"

My hope is that Mr. Kennedy comes out and somehow allows Santino to get the cheap win. This work work on two levels....as it would
A. Let Satino come away from the Austin thing even cockier than ever
and
B. Set up an eventual feud with Austin and the guy that was him 13-14 years ago
