WWE NOTES AND NEWS
by Mike Johnson @ 9:43:43 AM on 11/1/2007
Michael Weaver sent word that Broadway star Robert Goulet, who performed the Canadian National Anthem at Wrestlemania VI in 1990, passed away this week from pulmonary fibrosis, a very rare lung ailment. Goulet was awaiting a lung transplant at the time of his passing, although a suitable donor was not found in time. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
The Daytona News Journal has comments from Jimmy Hart and The Miz as part of their promotional tour for Wrestlemania 24 tickets in the Sunshine State at this link.
Former WWF champion Sgt. Slaughter will be appearing at the The Mississippi Sea Wolves hockey game this Friday.
Scott D from www.IWRWrestling.com sent the following.... Earlier this week, I received an email that UK's Silvervision will release it's "Best of Raw & Smackdown" onto the PlayStation Portable UMD format. However, I noticed a few significant changes to the Smackdown release just today. The original cover has been changed from Booker in the center with Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit on the sides to Rey Mysterio in the center, featuring Chavo Guerrero and Edge on the sides as can be seen here. The UMD release is 18 minutes shorter than the DVD version.
This can be explained by the loss of two matches: Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero vs. The Rock & Edge (08/01/02) and a United States Championship Match featuring Chris Benoit vs. Booker T (10/21/05). The release did gain one match featuring Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin vs. Eddie & Chavo Guerrero (9/18/03) for the WWE Tag Team championship.
Arturo sent the following....Shad Gaspard A.K.A. "BEAST" (in PWA) is currently accepting U.S. and international bookings. You can reach Shad via his MySpace page: www.myspace.com/bkbeast13 or via e-mail at bookdabeast@hotmail.com. Autograph Sessions, Singles Wrestling, and Tag Team Wresting with JTG bookings are available.
