Holds in wrestlings are sometimes called "grips" so I dont mind the title. I wonder what will they talk about. That might be offensive. I myself would have also added the subtitle of the "The Fatal Epidemic In Pro Wrestling" because that is exactly what it is.

Last night, I saw a commercial for a special investigation on CNN. It's called, "Death Grip: A Look Inside Professional Wrestling." It had a picture of Benoit holding the WHC in the background. I think it airs on Wednesday night. Sounds kind of tasteless to call it Death Grip and show Benoit. I wonder what else they will get into besides the steroids and painkiller stuff. All they need to do is interview Vince and use the Masters and Orton mockery and the midget as cruiserweight champion to ask why Vince pushes muscular guys above all others and if this creates an atmosphere in the company where to be successful you are tacitly encouraged to have a huge body, which increases the temptation to turn to roids.

Same shit they do with skinny actresses, I see both sides, on one hand people look to wrestling and think it's cool, same as girls looking to famous celebs, on the other hand-they don't have to do the same f***ing thing they see on tv

This cannot be stressed enough. I will start by saying I love Vince McMahon and consider him one of my personal idols. However, the fact is, he has "de facto" if not "de jure" endorsed and forced male wrestlers to get roided up in a similar way that he has forced female wrestlers to get boob jobs. Is it a written rule of his company? No. Will you be at an incredible disavantage without doing this drug/surgery? 100% In a moral though not legal sense, I hold him responsible for what is going on with pro wrestling. I have all the confidence that he will fix it to the extent that it will be a "good business decision" to do so. Vince McMahon is not an idiot. Vince McMahon is a myopic genius. He had a vision of the future and his only flaws stem from his tunnel vision. He is like the Titanic - incredibly direct, fast and fuel efficient but horribly, horribly awkward to change his course. Ever since Benoitgate, I've been screaming "Iceberg, ser, dead ahead!" as have most wrestling fans. I just hope that he turns the wheel in time. Otherwise, we will see a spectacular disaster that makes the Titanic times the Hindenburg to the power of "The Condemned" pale in comparison. EDIT: Don't get me wrong - they TRIED to make me watch "The Condemned" - I said "No, no no!"

It's obvious that Vince doesn't care about wrestlers, old and new, dying from drug use/abuse or suicide, ***from a business perspective.*** It's apparent that the mainstream fanbase doesn't care about wrestlers dying from drug use/abuse or suicide. It's apparent that TNA is likewise unmoved.
If none of these arbiters of power will do anything, then maybe the newsmedia needs to do something. The bumps obviously shorten a lifespan. The pain these guys go through - and remember that the first few years at least involve sleeping in ones car rather than a bed, eating peanut butter or canned tuna instead of room service, driving through the night to a match between chicago and memphis, or austin and atlanta. It's a miserable existence where guys can't afford to take time off. This encourages drug use - pot for soma holiday, painkillers to dull the aches and pains, sleeping pills to make the nights worthwhile, harder drugs for the hell of it, and performance enhancers to maybe make the hell end with a good tryout.
Death Grip - having been there for a short short short while, it's in my blood, and I want to go back, but deep down I know what's there for me. It's living in my car, eating tuna, working a shit job for car repair and insurance money, all for the dream. And even if it happens, here's your travel and injection schedules, kid. Get to poppin'.
there's a lot going on here.
