I'm waiting for someone to do the same to randy when he wraps up his career-seems only fitting

I for one applaud the career-ending kick... I'm totally sick of people kicking out of insane movez... I saw kickouts from DVDs, Ki-Krushers and Vertebreakers at the JAPW show I was at recently... was sickening.

WWE finally realized the bar can be only raised that much before the whole thing gets ridiculous AND dangerous.
But in the end, most WWE Superstars have kept their finishers quite "simple" [with the exception of high-flyers, before the ban of big moves]. The problem was what led to said finisher, and how many of them are needed to end a match.
Anyway, I'd not keep my hopes high for a jump back in style... The crowd are too used to big spots, and especially in gimmick matches at big events, they expect and pretend at least a couple of "holy pasta e fagioli" moments.
Orton's kick-of-death is an interesting way to put him over as a cold bastard, but sadly will not usher an era of "toned down" moves.

Oh and another thing, William Regal did this first and better (running knee to the temple) only about a year ago so I don't get why Randy's getting credit like he invented the smurfing thing.

The thing lost all credibility when he kicked John Cena Sr., only to have him return two weeks later.

Making old moves look deadly is all well and good, but ONLY if you can do them right. Jake the Snake made the DDT look like it would break your neck - and it put people out cold. Fine.
Cody Rhodes uses a DDT as a finisher and it looks like crap. And yet it's enough to knock people out?

It's because Haas dropped to his knee instead of falling correctly. You don't blame the guy when the man selling it messed up.

Hold on. Kicking someone in the head ends their career. So if Orton kicked a monster like Umaga in the head, he'd end his career? No wait! He's a monster, so it wouldn't phase him as bad.
This makes no sense. Let the friggin guy RKO people and let's get back to doing actual acrobatic wrestling moves and not stuff I could do to the mailman.
Not that I've ever kicked my mailman in the head.
