They need to go back to teams of 5 and have all the winners advance to the finals for 1 big match at the end like they did that 1 year.
I don't know why they feel they have to have a title fight and other crappy matches at S.S.
This would be a way to build some new stars. Like maybe have a crappy wrestler elimanate a few guys or have some one new win the whole thing and maybe set up future title shots instead of the same crap in the main events.
And bring back the GOOKER!!! Just kidding he sucked(Piper said:The kids love it!!) Yah right even then they new it sucked.

Ive long said that they need to revert back to the original concept. It was fun and people liked it. So, naturally they killed it off

The original formta was by far the best, made the name relevant as well.

Aside from the Booker/Batista match last year and the lack of the last match with all the survivors, they did this last year. Teams of 5, striving to survive. Have we forgotten last year already?

It is stupid to keep the name Survivor Series, if you don't keep the concept-just change the name, it won't make a difference to fans

It is stupid to keep the name Survivor Series, if you don't keep the concept-just change the name, it won't make a difference to fans well technically the champion still needs to survive his title defense, so the name does sorta work. and there's still quite a few weeks away from the ppv, they still might book a few tag matches.

are there even enough feuds going on right now to make 4-5 seperate elimination tag matches?
orton/hbk/umaga/HHH is all kinda one taker/batista (maybe?) cmpunk/morrison matt hardy and mvp are partners, but feuding sort of jeff hardy/kennedy i suppose,
i dont know, doesnt seem like enough going on to do it. but i loved the old format, as well

The old format was the reason Survivor Series is my favourite PPV of the year. Although I don't really have a problem with the main title being defended at the shows, I prefer the champions being in a Survival match as it keeps a feud going longer and opens up to further feuds if someone eliminates him. Last year was the first time they booked the elimination matches like the old days. Where 5 people who have nothing in common team up to face a team made up of the 5 people they are currently feuding with.

Of course there's enough fueds for 4-5 matches. They'd just have to make inter-brand teams.
Inter Brand Main Event: (Biggest Feuds from 3 Brands)
Mr. Kennedy/ Morrison/ Umaga/ Khali/ Orton vs Jeff Hardy/ CM Punk / Batista/ Michaels/ Triple H
ECW's Elimination Tag
Extreme Balls (Balls/ Kane/ Dreamer/ Nunzio/ Richards) vs Team Mizark (Miz/ Big Daddy V/ Mark Henry/ Burke/ Striker)
Smackdown's Elimination Tag
Mysterio/ Matt Hardy/ Jesse/ Festus/ Palumbo vs Finlay/ MVP/ Deuce/ Domino/ Dykstra
Raw's Elimination Tag
Santino/ Highlanders/ Murdoch/ Cade vs Simmons/ Londrick/ Holly/ Rhodes
Inter Brand Women's Match
Mickie/ Maria/ Torrie/ Michelle/ Kelly vs Beth/ Melina/ Jillian/ Victoria/ Layla

I don't like the survivors match thing, and I'd rather there still be title matches.
So last year was a good format to me. The roster is a bit thin for it this year though, maybe one or two less 10-man tags so they don't have to put total scrubs on teams to fill it out.

It wouldn't work in today's WWE, simply because there aren't enough wrestlers to have six or seven five-on-five matches. They would really have to stretch it, and teams would have to form across different brands. More trouble than it's worth.
Besides, the two or three that they usually do annually are fine. Plus, to sell a PPV in 2007, there would need to be a WWE title and/or World Heavyweight title match for people to become interested in watching.

Teams of 5? Wasn't it always teams of 4? That's how I remember it.

Teams of 5? Wasn't it always teams of 4? That's how I remember it. The first 2 years it was 5 on 5. In 1989 it changed to 4 on 4 and stayed that way until about 2001 (with the exception of 1994). Since then they have used both 4 on 4 and 5 on 5.

ECW's Elimination TagExtreme Balls (Balls/ Kane/ Dreamer/ Nunzio/ Richards) vs Team Mizark (Miz/ Big Daddy V/ Mark Henry/ Burke/ Striker) Extreme Balls? ? Hah. Getting back to the matter at hand, I would love to have nothing but elimination matches. But it seems like WWE is well aware that they can have other forms of matches that have an elimination element (elimination chamber, elimination tournament, etc.). Thus, what would you all think if every match was set up with some kinda elimination format? Or is that many gimmick matches too reminiscent of the last ONS?

The Surivor Series used to be one of my favorite ppv's but now there's nothing really special about it. There are plenty of guys on the roster to have 5v5 matches, because by then we'll have Edge, and hopefully Y2J to add to it. It was also a perfect ppv to get the younger and lower card guys on. Why not let guys like Stevie Richards, Val Venis, and Nunzio get on teams of their own. I just love that it seemed like every guy on the roster was used for these in the past and now they may as well call it Armageddon II or something, because its nothing special.
Last year was an exception because it had some true survivor series matches.
