Any truth to the rumor that Ron once dumped a girlfriend because he wouldn't stop saying "Damn!" whenever she did something stupid? Then his friends told him it was played out, so he stopped saying it and went back with her. Then they broke up anyway and he started saying it again, and after the short break his friends thought it was funny again. Now that I think about it, I guess it could've been someone else.

Live crowds react favorably, longer, to things well after a TV audience becomes bored with it.
Attitude era DX is a perfect example. Everyone remembers that era fondly, but watching DX doing the SAME stupid catch-phrases every single week was incredibly tedious (at least for me). But, they kept doing it because the live crowd always responded.
When you go to an event, and you're a little boozed up, you're willing to play along with things you've seen on TV - hey, it's exciting because yo9're actually there. So that kind of repetitive stuff is "over" even though the TV audience has tired of it.

It should just become the WWE version of MK's "TOASTY!!"
Whenever a big bump happens in a match, Simmon's face could pop out from the bottom corner of the screen and yell "DAMN!".
Hey, it beats the multiple replays.

the "DAMN!" is fun if not overkilled by WWE and it steals about 10 seconds from the show, so it's not a problem if you don't like it

What kills me is that damn could be funny but they execute it horribly. If he just popped out of nowhere and said damn it would be funnier than him standing around for a minute before saying it. And if they didn't do it every week and did it like 3 months apart it would be pretty funny. That's a good point. It'd be a lot funnier if the "DAMN!" was a surprise rather than him walking on, waiting around for 3 minutes and then saying it. It's not as bad as What?, but that's like saying someone isn't as bad as Hitler. As for its age, I think he first started doing this when John Cena was making fun of Booker for "not being black" (if you don't remember, consider yourself the luckier and don't ask) and Simmons came out and did the DAMN! right after Cena finished his rant. It was during the Cena/Booker/Big Show 'Champion of Champions' feud which was... I don't know exactly but it's been a while.

I'm over it now, but I still think that the series of skits at the restaurant with Santino was friggin' hilarious. I mean, come on...YAMS!

Is this only for "DAMN!" because there are other things I don't see the big deal about. Go for it. This was originally going to be a weekly thing for me to vent my frustrations but not that I think about it, I'm too lazy to do that. It should just become the WWE version of MK's "TOASTY!!" Whenever a big bump happens in a match, Simmon's face could pop out from the bottom corner of the screen and yell "DAMN!". Hey, it beats the multiple replays. That'd be cool. When someone botches have a little baby head come out of the corner and say "I made a poopy!". Looks like the little baby thing will be on TV tomorrow night.

DAMN was funny in the beginning and/or in special occasions, when it made sense in the context (ie the Booker-Cena argument about a white man acting black and vice-versa)
The variation during the dinner with Maria and Santino was mildly entertaining, but 9 times out of 10 it's just filler for a cheap pop.
It has become a tradition on RAW now, or so it looks like that. Live crowd will be disappointed if they don't witness a DAMN live

It works effectively as someone said earlier, when a damn pops up in a skit, rather then a skit custom tailored for a damn.
For example, about a week or two ago we saw Coach chase after Hornswoggle on bikes with their respective sizes. It was one of those WTF moments where it just beckoned Ron to say DAMN!. It works really well for things that are more or less absurd.

Something I'd like to see but will never happen:
"DAMN!"
"........ok, so what exactly is it that you do here? It seems like all you do is roam the hallways and when you see somebody in a compromising position you just say 'DAMN!" I mean, have you even wrestled a match of any substance since you came back? You're Ron Simmons, a former world champion and multi-time tag-team champion. Surely you're not drawing a paycheck just to hang out in the locker room waiting for the perfect moment to say 'DAMN!', are you?"
"..............damn........."

Noob Saibot required... something like 50 consecutive wins to reach. [/Mortal Kombat nerd mode]
