At 3 pm, my room mate Nathan and I drive to Stockton (a mere 45 away) to see what would be a great night as fans. So we arrive early enough to not have to pay for parking (SCORE!), and after walking around the arena, we came back to the performers' entrance and boy did we have a blast seeing all the superstars. Here they are in order, as far as I remember:
John Morrison: As we walked back to the entrance, we heard CM Punk chants. And who did we see but the Shaman of Sexy, Mr. Morrison walking into the building. But not before pulling a classic one liner about being above giving autographs. A mark out moment for me (the first of many).
The Miz w/ Kelly Squared and Layla El: Now I don't normally say this but my goodness... Layla is BREATHTAKING in person. I was in awe of her... "assets" so much that I barely noticed that Kelly and Miz were there. Miz made some comments about the crowd and enters into the entrance to a few "HOO-RAHS!".
Victoria and Torrie Wilson: As Miz pulled up, so did Victoria in her car with Torrie. The latter of which looked rather weird, her hair looking like it was in braids says Nathan. Meanwhile, Victoria is decked out like a badass in a black hoodie. Surprizingly, she got a lot of cheers from the crowd.
Rey Mysterio: This one is rather odd. Out of the building walks a short, Hispanic dude with shades and tats. It didn't click with me that it was Rey but Nathan spotted it right away. "REY!" Instantly swarms of kids come to see the unmasked Rey, who quickly becomes P.O.ed. He gets in his car and drives away.
The Great Khali: We hear some cheering from the opening at the gates and lo & behold, it was Khali. Oddly enough, he was warmly received (quite different later on in the night). He warmly waved to the crowd as he got inside the gate then gathered his things. The dude was styling and profiling, seriously. And, I have to admit, seeing him in person with clothes... It made him look small. Sure he was tall but, from a distance, he did not carry the same presence that he otherwise holds. But still, I could see hints of his legendary "friendly giant" syndrome.
Chavo and Vickie Guerrero: As the two pull up, poor Vickie ducked. Obviously she didn't like everyone gawking and her (and boy did they make some rather rude comments towards the poor woman), so Chavo did the right thing... He drove into the arena with her in the car to let her enter without having to enter out in the public. He came back out, parked, and began walk back inside when Rey came back and almost ran him down. Chavo jokingly jumped out of the way and acted like he was pissed about Rey going to hit him. Then he went inside.
Rey Mysterio part 2: He came out to the crowd, still unmasked, and signed some autographs for the fans. To which the overly Hispanic crowd and kids marked huge for. Much respect to him.
Micheal PS Hayes and Khali's manager: Odd duo. Nobody seemed to know who Hayes was. I shouted "Firebird" and "PS" at him.
Mark Henry and MVP: They both came out of the same car. Immediately I noticed how big Henry is. Unlike Khali, TV does not do Henry justice while MVP looked like the smoothest dressed dude on the roster. Funny stuff, as MVP was being cheered, he raised a finger to his mouth and tried to shush the crowd. As he passed by, I couldn't resist a "BALLIN'"!
CM Punk & Hornswoggle: We hear loud cheering and who is it? Why CM Punk and Hornswoggle have arrived! Oddly enough or awesomely enough, his car parked RIGHT in front of me so I got a good pic.
Batista: The biggest outside "pop" of this event, and the last person that I saw enter, was in fact Batista. He actually arrived a bit earlier but that was pretty uneventful. Let me just say right now that he is HUGE in person, not height but rather just frame. I must tread lightly because I'm about to lose my IWC card... The dude, while looking like he was bored, came over and began to sign autographs. But he didn't just sign a few like Rey, no he went along the WHOLE fence signing stuff. In fact, I was standing against the fence a ways away from the entrance when I started to notice a crowd gathering around me. Nathan points behind me and to my surprise, I'm not more than five feet away from the dude (another pic taken). I was surprised how short he was, compared to my height (6'1"). And now for the non-IWC comment, he signed the most autographs than anyone else. And he didn't have to. Much respect to him for that.
And now for the show...
Justin Roberts enters the ring to the Smackdown! theme to welcome us to the show and states that before the show can go on, we must pay tribute to the late great Fabulous Moolah with a ten bell salute. Very classy on WWE's part, although a few fans were rather rude.

John Morrison vs Tommy Dreamer ***At the beginning, Morrison did some PERFECT heel mike work that totally got heat on him which included him actually singing a section of it (if that continues, t'will be awesome). A great starter match that saw Morrison playing the cowardly heel to Dreamer's never say die face. Lots of stalling, including Morrison and Dreamer having a sexy dance off (Dreamer is god). The crowd was totally into it, even with the rather large amount of restholds by Morrison (all of which got the crowd cheering for Dreamer). Morrison won via a Corkscrew Neckbreaker. Mark my words, Morrison will be big in a year or two if nothing bad happens. Chuck Palumbo vs Chavo Guerrero *Let me start off by saying I'm a huge fan of Chavo. The guy is seriously underrated in getting heat from the crowds and his ring work is solid. But he couldn't make this match interesting to save his life. Palumbo was god awful. Take away the motorcycle from this guy, and he wouldn't even get a pop. Unlike Dreamer, who even in the series of restholds of Morrison was able to hold the crowd's attention, Palumbo simply sucked. The whole match, Chavo was working the right arm. And like a big doofus, Palumbo just laid there. No matter if it was an arm bar or anything else, he just looked like he was resting. There was alot of stalling in this match as well, sadly a theme of the night. Oddly enough, Chavo got a small "Eddie" chant. Palumbo got an undeserved win with the "Full Throttle", after Chavo did all the work. Anybody who thinks Palumbo deserves this push he's getting must be seeing another channel. Because, for me, there's nothing there. Shannon Moore vs Mark Henry **A squash match. Shannon came out first to a small pop. As his music settled down, nobody knew who was coming out. Suddenly... "WHOA HEY WHOA HEY WHOA HEY SOMEBODY'S GONNA GET THEIR ASS KICKED!" It's been said countless times but Henry's music is one of the best in the damn fed. As soon as the music hit, the sentiment from the crowd was "Aww crap... Nice knowing you Shannon." It wasn't a classic, but it was good for what it was. Henry won by a bearhug. US Title Match: Montel Vontavious Porter vs Kane ***MVP gets it. He has the heel role down perfectly. As he came out, he got a small pop. Just as he was about do the "Ballin' " part of his entrance, he stopped and waved everyone off. One tease of a free shirt later, he looked like he was about to crap himself as Kane's music hit. After an unneeded bit of stalling, the match officially started. Great back and forth action, in lay man's terms: solid and enjoyable. One small note, MVP should stop using the Playamaker and switch to that corner kick. Really vicious that. Kane won via DQ after MVP countered the Chokeslam with a low kick. Then, after a failed chair shot, Kane hit the Chokeslam for the biggest pure finisher pop of the night. IntermissionCM Punk vs The Miz w/ Kelly Squared and Layla El ****As we came back from intermission, I was in line for a soda (Pepsi). I heard the next match was for the ECW title, immediately I was worried about missing an entrance. Then I heard it was the miss and I stopped caring. After taking my time getting my drink, I walked back to my seat just in time to see Punk enter. While, just in time to see Miz badger Kelly about how he could fire her for not obeying him (totally blowing his chance to add that he would do to her what he "did" to Brooke). The dude gets a great pop and surprisingly the match is the best of the night. It started with, shocker, stalling which got some heat on Miz. He added more to it when he would use Extreme Expose as shields. All of Punk's moves were really crisp and beautiful live, including the corner Shining Wizard and the GTS. While I still don't accept Miz as a credible threat to anyone, the match was great. Punk won clean with the GTS and got a HUGE pop when he took Kelly with him. Victoria vs Torrie Wilson w/ Special Referee Funaki **Ah Victoria, you deserve far better. She did all the work, Torrie did hardly anything. Then Torrie gave Victoria a massive wedgie and pinned her. Sucky, but Victoria made it decent. She should be on RAW dammit. Jimmy Wang Yang vs Drew McIntyre. **I have to admit, I was played. Out of nowhere Roddy Piper's music hit and the place popped. Then Drew McIntyre came out. And everyone was like... Who? He seemed really hoarse or something because he had sort of a Highlander's tone to his voice. But the idea of his gimmick is different, at least that's what one can tell from his pre match promo. A foreigner that wishes to improve America by becoming a citizen while training natural born Americans how to be "smart, sexy men like me!" Match was good. And gives proof to my theory: give Yang a decent amount of time to work his magic and he will get over huge. The finish of the match was rather confusing... Drew was on his knees, selling his back, and Yang Moonsaulted off the top ropes. Drew sold too long and Yang didn't position himself right. So it ended up that Jimmy landed wrong on his legs and Drew got a straight boot right to the back of the head. McIntyre got up instantly and hit a poor (compared to his usual one) Complete Shot, the whole time holding the back of his head (almost making me believe he was legit hurt while Nathan thought Jimmy was). McIntyre wins. Finlay and The Great Khali w/ Hornswoggle vs Rey Mysterio and Batista ***The crowd made this match. It was what you would expect, not to say that's bad, but you get my drift. Highlights include the newest McMahon getting used as a battering ram by both Rey and Batista on a rope tied Khali. After a 619 to Khali and his manager then Horny and Finlay, Batista hit a Spinebuster on Finlay for the win. Afterwords, Rey hit the 619 on Khali's manager again. Then they celebrated for awhile. Great show, lots of fun. Clear ring: s21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/AlexWelms/100_1064.jpgMorrison: s21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/AlexWelms/100_1065.jpgKane: s21.photobucket.com/albums/b274/AlexWelms/100_1070.jpgHall of Shame (fans): 3. An older guy at the outside that claimed that Rikishi (Real Name: Juinor Fatu), Umaga, and Black Reign were brothers. And Rikishi was let go from TNA due to injury, at the time he was in the best shape of his life. He's got to have lost 40 lbs since WWE. The injury was the only reason WWE hasn't brought him back yet. Yep. 2. A dude that we sat next to the whole time that immediately seemed to leak an aura of being a jerk. He cursed around the kids that surrounded us, asked Nathan and I if we knew "it's fake", and just did other stuff I didn't like. 1. A drunken idiot that stormed the ring after Batista and Rey one to hug Batista. Immediately, he was taken down and dragged away. Later on, we saw him being escourted out to the parking lot to cheers which sickened me. I would have flipped the drunken jackass off had his wife and child not ran to him to hug him for the "cool" actions he did. I'm surprised that Batista didn't freak out on him, rather he just looked over then ignored him. Classy by Batista, as he could acted worse (and I wouldn't have thought anything against it.)

Thanks for the review and the pics. Awesome show, by the sound of it.
Funny to see Punk and Hornswoggle as riding buddies.
Question, though.
Why did you yell "firebird" at Hayes? Did you mean freebird? =oP
