The Times Online in the U.K. reports that Smackdown announcer JBL's wife has received death threats following a recent stock downgrade. JBL has been married to CIBC analyst Meredith Whitney, who downgraded her stock evaluation of Citigroup, causing an estimated $369 billion loss in value to the company's stock. Citigroup investors issued death threats to Whitney following her evaluation.
The news comes as Citigroup's CEO Charles Prince will resign from the company this weekend, with an emergency meeting being held by board members. In reports on the death threats, JBL is curiously referred to as "Death Mask," a gimmick he used for the WAR promotion in Japan in the 90's.

I just have this great image of JBL lining them all up and clotheslining them for hours. Then Ron Simmons walks by and JBL asks him, "Hey Ron, want to beat up some investors for a couple of hours?" "Damn!", Ron replies, then they continue to beat up the investors for hours. Then JBL and Ron go to a bar and drink beer. And play blackjack. And buy hookers.

how can she cause citigroup to loose all that money? did she steal it or something? She informed her clients that it was underperforming, which basically translates to "SELL NOW!!!!" to investors. The mass exodus of her firm's clients caused the stock to drop in value, which hurt those who did not sell. All she really did was help accelerate the drop, not actually cause it. She did the right thing, because in the end she protected her clients from an eventual drop. |
