Does anyone else think that they are adding in crowd noise for Palumbo. Watching it Friday the pop he got was comparable to Austin back in 98.
There is no way Palumbo is that over, but I havnt seen him live since he started this new gimick...so I dont know.
What do you guys think?

I wouldn't be surprised for last week's show as they were in L.I and generally they don't give good reactions most of the time.

SD! always had canned in cheers. For instance, catch the Batista promo from this past Friday when it was evident he was booed but got cheered anyway.

Trust me... if Stevie Richards appeared and got that kind of pop, people would be saying put the title on him, not that they were added in post-production.

SmackDown is almost always canned.
They use the exact same soundbyte of the pop, too.

I think if it wasn't piped, I would still say he deserved the chants. Chuck Palumbo is a great worker that deserves his spot. He might not be a maineventer, but he could be one hell of a solid midcarder.

He could mainevent, they just need to book him right... of course, that's the same for practically anyone.

Smackdown is a lot more edited and polished than I ever thought. It became apparent to me when I was at a taping, and I literally watched them tape the main event twice... then when it aired on TV, they used elements of both that were edited together. It made me realize that they probably do this all the time and most people don't even notice.
Not that it's a bad thing... it's just that it was enough to make me realize that everything you see on there is potentially "edited for TV".

Im not sure what kind of reactions he gets. I saw him live in July, but it was his tv return on Smackdown against Kenny Dykstra. So most people had no idea who was coming out until he was announced. They poped for the bike though.

It would be funnier if the bike sounds were edited in

He could mainevent, they just need to book him right... of course, that's the same for practically anyone. Anyone can be a main eventer; all you have to do is book them properly. I mean, Paul Heyman was able to book Mikey Whipwreck into a credible ECW Champion.

Helps get him "over" with the home audience if everyone at home thinks they're cheering like crazy in the audience. Kinda of a weak ploy, but hey, they've been doing stuff like this for years, so...

Smackdown has a lot of crowd noise added in and it sounds like they use the same pop that they do in the video games.

It's really intelligence-insulting isn't it?!

I don't mind them sweetening the pops a bit, it makes total sense and helps wrestlers get over.
I do mind when they go overboard and insult your intelligence with it though. Sometimes they have the building just plain erupt over nothing.
