Wow. I guess I'm an "Idiot" according to an earlier post. Because I think it's a disgrace for them to make all these alterations and then charge that much for it. I watch these for nostalgia purposes and that is ruined by the edits/blurs/music changes. No sale for me.

Because I am willing to bet the farm that Eye Of The Tiger isn't used as Hulk Hogan's WrestleMania 1 theme. They are also avoiding a lawsuit by blurring the logo's. So if that makes it a disgrace, well so be it.

Well WWE is going to begin to rerelease the Royal Rumble Anthology sets into the indivual volumes at the end of this month. Vol. 1 (1988-1992) and Vol. 2 (1993-1997) comes out at the end of the month on Nov. 27th. Thats the way I'm going to collect them since that how I bought the Wrestlemania sets.

I know about the dumbass frivolous lawsuit.

Yup, the dubbing is horrendous on the Wrestlemania DVD set. Thus, I opted to purchase the VHS box set from 1997 which features the full, uncut broadcasts, with all themes and songs intact. The only thing cut out are the intermissions. I like it.

I don't think that the more recent blurring they've done is that bad. It's not really that obtrusive. When they first started blurring the logo though? That was horrendous!

I've never given much of a crap about the blurs on any of the DVDs. Frankly, if the blurs alone are what's stopping you buying this set, you're an idiot. In fact I'd say that about anyone refusing to buy any of the current DVDs. It's just a bit of blurring. Yes it's annoying as hell, but you let that stop you from buying the often fantastic DVDs WWE's been putting out lately? That's just stupid. Anyway, this box set is AMAZING. Buy iiiiit. So people who refuse to shell out $200 on edited versions of easily accessible footage are idiots? Wow. No wonder Vince can always make a profit. He can throw a turd in between two slices of bread and set up a sandwich shop with the type of fans he has. Some people may not mind the music edits, and blurring, and commentary edits, etc. Others find that to be unappealing, and I don't blame them. Now, I've never purchased a WWE produced DVD, and don't intend to, but I have seen some episodes of MSG classics and the edits were an eye sore. Part of nostalgia is seeing things like they were when you first saw them. Hearing that familar theme again, listening to the commentary, watching the promos, etc. If the editing hurts someone's memory of that event, then why are they idiots for not grossly overpaying for unauthentic material? That's asinine logic. Find the VHS tapes cheap online and either collect them that way or burn them to DVD yourself. That's my suggestion. The CHV edits are for time purposes, not for lawsuit or royality reasons.

The blurring on 2002 is really good u hardly notice it. Its only 4 out of the 20 that are blurred anyway. I got it the day it was released here it was 350 I think well worth it I set apart a week so I could watch it from start to finish so many Rumbles *slobbers*

The blurs aren't bad, you don't even notice, especially if you happen to be watching the wrestlers and not the turnbuckles.
I ain't spending 9 weeks on-line hunting down the best price for an old VHS copy of the Royal Rumble so I can't see blurs and Maven's theme music is there. It's not like Led Zeppelin 4 being re-released with Stairway out and My Humps by Fergie put in it's place.

I watch it for wrestling, not blurs. But when the blurs get in the way of the wrestling that I'm attempting to watch, that's when I have a problem with it. I've seen many instances on recent WWE produced DVDs where the blurring is so sloppily done that it will at times obscure the performers. If it were done with more care, I might not care as much, but when it's that piss poor at times, I have every right to complain.

I could let a small blur slide, but some of the blurs that WWE does are absolutely annoying, and they give me a headache. The last thing I need is a headache while watching enjoyable wrestling matches. That's one "cake" I won't be touching...and the WWF-Bombs and music dubs are the icing of that cake. No thanks, WWE...

You'd think the blurring though would perhaps inspire WWE to not put their logo over every inch of the arena though. It's all on all 12 turnbuckle pads, 4 sides of the apron, 90 different camera-men wear it, certain rasslers have the shirts on as well, the Titan Tron, them huge-ass banners that hang from the rafters (probably right next to the fans).....

At least its not like WCW with the logo on the ring. Think of what that blur would look like.
