What are some of your thoughts on these games: WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade Game, WWF Raw Is War for ps1, WCW Mayhem, WCW Backstage Assult, ECW Hardcore Revolution. I remember playing Raw Is War for the first time.. it came on Demo Disk 8 with my first ps1.. back then that game was amazing.. but looking back on it now.. it's completely crappy.. lol.. I thought it was funny how the cowd would yell "BURN IN HELL" for Kane.. and during the hardcore matches they would just throw in TVs.. WCW Mayhem had everything including the kitchen sink lol.. ECW hardcore revolution is the only game I know of to have a barbed wire match.. even though it was horrible.. hitting the barbed wire was like hitting a brick wall.. it was kool how they had random cuts though.. and Wrestlemania the arcade game.. any game where you can smash a tombstone over somenes head is an awesome game

Wrestlemania Arcade: Crap WWF Warzone (I believe you meant this): Crap, but good CAW mode for the time WCW Mayhem: never played it WCW Backstage Assault: never played it but probably crap ECW Hardcore Revolution: what a shitload of f***

Wrestlemania Arcade is pretty fun. The sound clips are great.
WCW Mayhem was frustrating. The controls were kind of tough to figure out and I don't really get how the damage worked. I guess you had to get that meter all the way up to do any real damage.
ECW HR was as frustrating as Attitude as far as controls go. You had to do a Mortal Kombat fatality like combination to do anything other than an arm wringer.
I really like Warzone. The move combos weren't to difficult and I liked the roster.

ECW hardcore revolution is the only game I know of to have a barbed wire match.. even though it was horrible.. hitting the barbed wire was like hitting a brick wall.. Several of the Fire Pro Wrestling games have Barbed Wire matches (also has exploding barbed wire and lighttube matches)

The control schemes were horrible in the Acclaim WWF/ECW games. They completely killed the games.

I thought Warzone was thought to be pretty good for the time. The combos weren't as hard and the movement wasn't as robotic as Attitude.

WWF Wrestlefest.
Wrestling in the arcade came at me with thrills like none other in this game.
It has good superstars from the early 90s and was easy to learn, colorful and bright.

Okay, I'll try to explain in more detail...
Wrestlemania Arcade was... eh. I prefer a more realistic approach for my wrestling games. Beating fish out of Yokozuna was fun for two minutes, though.
Warzone, like I said, had a decent CAW mode for its time, but the controls were terrible (press left-down-left-right-left-kick or some equally complicated button combination to do a Sharpshooter!) and the roster wasn't much to write home about.
ECW Hardcore Revolution, on the other hand, was just WWF Attitude with ECW wrestlers and arenas and still used the basic Warzone engine which was already very outdated when Attitude came out... and of course, this meant we still had the horrible control scheme.

The Acclaim Games weren't that bad, looking over the history of wrestling games. I owned Warzone and Attitude before borrowing my friend's WCW/nWo World Tour. My friends and I all played the hell out of Warzone. We had a secret website set up where we'd have matches and some storylines using the giant CAW capabilities. We had stables of Star Trek guys, Star Wars guys, Planet of the Apes guys, Aliens, a DX ripoff stable (called Degeneration Next), etc.
I remember a few fun moments with that game, including Star Trek Scotty losing a match against Han Solo and disappearing for a show or two, only to return as fat old Scotty. Chewbacca turned heel and joined the Apes. My friend and I turned heel on our other friend in the D-Next stable and formed the Next World Order, where my friend helped me steal the kid's IC title. He got pissed for about a minute, then wanted to join the nWo.
My friend also created quite possibly the greatest CAW of all time. A Native American known as Chief Gimme Clothes Nakee. He started off in a pair of underwear and everytime he'd beat someone, he'd take a piece of their clothes and with Warzone's CAW set up, he could take one boot or one glove at a time. I remember he defeated my fat alien hippie (named Default) in his first match and took his tye-died shirt.
But as mentioned, the games were just blown away after THQ came around and especially when they hooked up with WWE and added a CAW. I just wish THQ would've ripped off Acclaim's color set up and added some cool masks.
Hardcore Revolution was definitely outdated by the time it came out. My friend bought it since he was a huge ECW fan and would buy a bunch of stuff from them just to help the company out. I remember him coming to school complaining about Raven having purple pyro. I played it at his house for one match before we put in No Mercy. I then made a CAW of him (my friends and I had a rule that you couldn't make a CAW of yourself in a game, because they just generally came out crappier than if someone else did it. They also got to pick one of your clothes attire, which usually resulted in you wearing a bikini.
I haven't played WrestleMania Arcade much, but I enjoy Super WrestleMania some, love Royal Rumble (due to playing it in my youth) and WCW Superbrawl (as it was the first game I played when I got into wrestling... granted that was early '98.)

I have both Legends of Wrestling games for Xbox. Thought they were pretty good. There is three of them. I only played the third one a.k.a. Showdown: Legends of Wrestling, and that one was almost as bad as Backyard Wrestling or Atsushi Onita FMW.

ok RAW Is War, is awesome, as is Royal Rumble, and WM2000 and No Mercy. I actually liked Hardcore Revolution, but prefered Anarchy Rulez. WCW Backstage Assult, stay Away. WCW Mayhem I actually liked.
