I marked out for this RAW so many times. An awesome opening segment, an awesome tag match, hell, make that 2. And Austin and beer truck make a return and Santino held his ground. This was classic, and I wonder how people hated it.

It's an idiotic cry for attention. The hyperbole in these situations is ridiculous. At least whoever made the most recent 'Worst Raw ever' post mentioned she'd be watching next week.

I marked out for this RAW so many times. An awesome opening segment, an awesome tag match, hell, make that 2. And Austin and beer truck make a return and Santino held his ground. This was classic, and I wonder how people hated it. I "hated" it because: 1) The opening segment was good, but ultimately pointless, and it broke kayfabe in a needless way several times. 17 straight minutes of comedy are too much. 2) Three throwaway matches that would have been out of place even on Heat 3) Austin and his beer truck. I loathed every single second of it. Santino held his ground but I don't like his chances in the future, should Stone Cold stay in the picture. 4) More D-X comedy. Wasn't the opening segment enough? The rest of the show at least had a purpose, storyline-wise. But we're speaking of maybe 50% of the actual airtime... With an important PPV coming up, they'd have done better IMO. I've been forgiving for years, accepting and justifying pretty much every dull episode of RAW, but this time I feel I have to complain a bit. Dull RAW 2007 >>> 1999 From the Vault RAW It wasn't the worst ever, it's not a way to get attention, it's just an honest opinion.

Why is it that after every WWE show, someone says that its the worst one ever? Posters get a little extreme sometimes. Mediocre effort gets mediocre shows. The past few weeks have been either decent or piss poor. Kind of an amalgam. Just my opinion, of course. What I think is wrong about RAW some might agree with and others would say RAW was excellent the entire show through. Differences of opinion.

It was only the 2nd worst raw.
The worst one is whatever they're showing next week.

I don't think it was the worst Raw ever, but I'm pretty sure it was a rerun. I think I saw that episode a few years ago.

this is what I don't get - "I'M NEVER GOIN TO WATCH WRESTLING AGAIN" "I'M THROUGH WITH THE WWE" "I'M NEVER GOIN TO TURN ON MY TV" "I'M GOIN TO STOP BREATHING THE AIR BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME AIR VINCE BREATHES" "I'M GOING TO START WEARING EVENING GOWNS LIKE BIG VITO BECAUSE HE'S THE BOMB" ect ect..

I don't mind the Flashback episode of RAW, as it had its moments (mainly Santino, and Khali's BRAIN CHOP~!), but I can also see how somebody would throw up their hands and say WORST RAW EVER~! the second that Big Dick Johnson showed up....

Actually, the opening post in those kinds of threads usually says that Raw was horrible, not that it was the "worst Raw they've ever seen".
I don't mind them, but I draw the line at when I'm asked "how can I enjoy this".
As far as me, I enjoyed the show.

Because Tony Schiavone isn't around every week to point out that's it's the best one ever.

Ok, reasons why I don't think this was the worst Raw ever.
#1. DX getting over Hornswaggle, the Boogeyman, and Great Khali somewhat by including them in the opening segment. Even though I severly dislike Khali I enjoyed the moment. Plus Coach got a well-deserved beating since we were about a month overdue.
#2. Kelly Kelly gets destroyed once again.
#3. Very Good Tag Match between Hardy/Mysterio & Finlay/Kennedy. Oh and for some reason Jeff gets the rough equivalent of a WWE Desire Video Package later in the show.
#4. Santino standing his ground against Austin. And for those going "OMG HE'S BEEN STUNNERED TO HEAT!" Get over it. MVP suffered the same @ Summerslam and he's still doing just fine. Therefore there is no precedence for your complaining.
#5. Very Good main event match. If he can't do anything else right, Randy Orton can at least sell things like death.
Granted there were some silly moments, plus a not-really-needed return of Big Dick Johnson, but whatever, I enjoyed it to a degree. The important thing was I was entertained by it.

I didn't mind last night's episode. I thought that last week's show was pretty bad.

Santino is a mere comedy character anyway. People want him pushed into the main event because he's a funny guy it seems, but it doesn't work that way. In the WWE food chain, he's about midcard level at best so far.
That's not to say he wont someday be a main eventer, but people complaining that he's being buried is rather strange to me considering he's not a promised main eventer yet.
Raw wasn't close to being the worst ever, but it's wont win any rewards or anything. I think the aim of it was for a ratings/nostalgia boost. I enjoyed Jeff Hardy/Mysterio vs. Kennedy/Finlay, I found the opening DX segment amusing (and this coming from the guy who usually finds DX as funny as being punched really hard in the throat), and I enjoyed Santino and Maria getting a beer bath. We also got the announcement of a cool Survivor Series elimination match, which is always good news.
The only real negatives for me were the announcement of Khali vs. Hornswoggle (UGH) and that pointless Hacksaw/Crazy vs. WGTT mess.

the biggest gripes that I have heard have been
1. "Kayfabe" was slaughtered
and
2. it was pointless
Even though "Kayfabe" has been dead for years, I really think people just have a fetish for using the insider term. So, during that opening segment, all of the "smarky" types raced to be the first to orgasm about "kayfabe" being dead. This reaction is similar to when a "botch" happens.
And sometimes being pointless is fun. I think this is an issue of wrestling being taken a little too seriously. I don't understand these types of people/fans. Because if I am not enjoying RAW or SD or anything really, I am not above switching the channel or turning the TV off. Why can't others do the same thing? If it's really as bad as you claim it is, then turn it off until next week.

Because I guess we tend to try to forget past let downs. I know this wasn't the worst ever. It didn't have a colonoscopy or a dead cheerleader. Therefore making that one where Hunter was a ventriloquist and Hurricane wore a series of Hunter masks during a colonoscopy in the same 15 minutes the worst Raw ever.

What I find funny about the complaints is rarely do we get these individuals to actually come up with their own suggestions on exactly what they want to see. And chances are, what it is they want to see would probably not interest a lot of people. So what you have is nothing more than a neverending issue. People will complain and I'll just sit back and laugh at the melodrama.
