Why is it that after every WWE show, someone says that its the worst one ever?

Because I guess we tend to try to forget past let downs.
I know this wasn't the worst ever. It didn't have a colonoscopy or a dead cheerleader.

This was the worst Raw I've seen. I say that honestly; I rarely complain about overall show quality.
Recently they've been quite good. I remember there was a time last year, however, when people would regularly "swear off WWE forever."

They actually don't.
And some people dislike certain kinds of shows more than other kinds...different things affect different people, well, differently.

I never say that, though I'll make an exception for tonight. It all just seemed to go bang...bang...bang...with no real direction.

Kind of like Peter Gibbons from Office Space... each day is the worst day of his life.

Because there's hundreds or thousands of people here, and millions posting about wrestling on the internet in general. Obviously someone is (more likely several someones are) going to think it's the worst thing they can remember.
Especially so when it's heavy on the nostolgia and light on the substance like it was tonight. You'll either find that mostly fun, or mostly stupid.
Every now and then there are episodes with little for people to complain about, but with the current Raw roster, that's gonna be a rarity.

I think people also just like to vent with complaining. They'll tend to blow it out of proportion.

Or they find that they enjoyed nothing or next to nothing about an episode.
I don't think it was that bad, but I can see how pretty much every segment tonight could elicit at least a "meh" from someone.

I'm not denying that they won't like all of it, or sometimes even some of it, but give anyone a platform, and they'll be tempted to tell a big fish story.

I think saying "worst raw ever" is a bit of a stretch, since the shows been on so long and all. It's just semantics though really.
As long as the person is level headed enough (i.e. most people on this board, i wouldn't comment on other boards cause it can get pretty moronic), their opinion is usually genuine in that it's the worst show they can remember.

It had it's moments. Santino proving that he could mix it with a genuine superstar was one of them.
My absolute highlight though (and I never mention them because I think that they are an extremely tired commentary team) was when JR told King "put you hands back on the table" when those Girls Next Door chicks turned up. That mixed with Triple H's dancing equalled hilarity for me.

I've been VERY critical of Raw over the past couple of years or so, but last nite's was one of the best in a loong time IMO. I put a lot of that in its unpredictability

I've never used that line, but I'll make an exception for yestarday's RAW.
Not the worst ever, but a pointless one. An over-the-top clusterf***, with little action, and little substance.
Goofy D-X is quite bearable, but 15 minutes of various "smart remarks" and dodgy run-ins were a bit too much.
Austin and his truck... God, every time I forget how much I loathe Stone Cold, WWE make something to remind me in the worst way possible. Santino was great, but I fear he'll be stunned all the way to Heat.
The matches were ok-ish, but totally lost in the "it's 1999 all over again" vibe of the evening.

It was a good show, I honestly did laugh out loud a number of times, and it entertained me. Job done, I hope next week's can also do the same.

Peter Gibbons: So I was sitting in my living room today, and I realized, ever since I started watching Raw, every single episode has been worse than the one before it. So that means that every single Raw that I see that's the worst Raw ever. Dr. Swanson: What about this week? Is this week the worst Raw ever? Peter Gibbons: Yeah. Dr. Swanson: Wow, that's messed up.

People want attention.
So melodramatic 'I'm never watching again!' gives it to them, I suppose.

While I don't think this was the worst Raw ever, I did consider this one pretty rough, especially since the 20 minute opening segment was a throwaway and that there were three matches that were "blink and you miss em" short.
That said, people like to use hyperbole, especially on the internet.
