Here's a new image from IGN. FYI: 4/13/97 was the Barely Legal PPV, where after defeatinng Sandman and Richards in a 3-Way Dance, Terry Funk defeated Raven to win the ECW Title. I think I'm going to like Hall of Fame mode. But if Richards and Raven aren't in the game, who's going to take their place?

I'd say you just defeat Sandman as Funk in an extreme rules match

With the custom soundtracks, I am not that concerned about the depleted/outdated roster this year at all. I'm excited for this over any other Smackdown due to this feature, as well as that 24/7 mode, since it is going to get rid of a lot of the kayfabe and focus on you being a wrestler on the road, apparently. I am liking the tournament feature inclusion as well.
I just made a list of the notable wrestlers from the 3 brands. Although this list has over 20 talents that should have been in the game in the first place, I am always satisfied with THQ's CAW. I already have all of their music, mostly due to extracting audio from various Youtube titantron uploads. I didn't think I'd find a clear Morrison, Jesse and Festus or BDV theme (among others); but to my surprise I found some high quality ones, some are looped but they are not too noticable.
Played the demo and enjoyed it a lot personally. The commentary is horrendous as usual, but most of us turn that off anyway.
I really do hope they scrap it and build it from the bottom up for '09. Keep some similar mechanics, but totally scrap the commentary and redo that all over.
Anybody know if casket matches are in? I haven't heard about it, but I am hoping, just due to varied match types.

Review is up: 7.8 from IGN. They didn't have a ton of complaints, except for the usual old animations, clipping and a few complaints with the game's structure. xbox360.ign.com/articles/832/832025p1.htmlEdit: nevermind... missed it the 24/7 part totally.

That's a surprisingly low score from IGN, as usually they give the SD vs. RAW games at least 8.0 no matter how bad they are. The Wii version, on the other hand, scored 7.5, which is a lot more than I expected after reading about the early builds. Here's the full review: wii.ign.com/articles/832/832095p1.htmlIt must be said, though, that the matches in the Wii version apparently last one to five minutes or so, and that alone makes me not want to even consider getting it. I want my good long matches, dammit.

so basically the game is a rehash, with crappy controls, and is basically a game with no real stand out points.
hehe...
wow that's lowest score ign has ever gave a wwe game.

I cannot believe for one second that this could be any sorse than Smackdown vs. Raw 1.

I cannot believe for one second that this could be any sorse than Smackdown vs. Raw 1. The Wii version probably is worse. But yeah, the first SVR is easily the worst game in the series. Including Just Bring It. Hell, I think Atsushi Onita FMW (likely the worst wrestling-themed game ever) was more entertaining than the first SVR, at least that game had Megumi Kudo and you got to beat up boxing mushroom hippies and pelvic-thrusting platypus robots. Eh, maybe THAT is a bit too harsh even for SVR.

I will laugh if THQ pulls all of their exclusives from THQ for giving their game less than an 8.

As a 360 owner you're in for a few additional treats as well. For the first time, you'll be able to rip music from your hard drive and put it in as your created superstar's entrance music in a simple, easy step in the creation of an entrance.
I might be reading too much into this but does that mean you can't edit the rest of the roster's theme music?

Either option, whether it be poor writing or locking the WWE Superstars, wouldn't surprise me.
You realize that, with customizable entrance themes, if they can be used online, every jagoff teen online is going to use some Chamillionaire/T-Pain/Akon song as their theme.
