The most controversial thing, at least for the general public, was the Undertaker "crucifying" Austin. It got so bad, I remember reports on tv saying how professional wrestling was gonna have to move to a pay-channel, ala HBO or Showtime...

Pillman was just awesome. His first promo on ECW, at one point, he had the entire house booing or cheering him with every other sentence he said.

Matt Hardy's return to RAW deserves a mention...It's probably not top 10. However Hardy showing up on RAW after weeks of "We Want Matt" chants at Edge and Lita, attacking, and then plugging an indie promotion on the mic before they could cut to break was pretty damn controversial with what happened in Matt's personal life.

Russo's "Shoot" on Hogan. Which went SO well until he played the bald card.
Speaking of which Hunter being racist towards Booker was a good one, if not top 10 caliber.
Hawk falling of the titantron was a good one, because a lot of people got pissed about Alchohol and Drug abuse on it.
Billy and Chuck get married. Got a lot of media attention before it happened.
Rude showing up on Nitro and Raw on the same night.
