isn't it about time for another World X Cup? Masters In A Sombrero on Team Mexico=Fried Gold! Especially if they put him in an awful mask where you can tell it's him.

TNA! TNA! TNA!
I'd love for Masters to clean himself up and go to TNA. Always been a big fan of the guy. Awesome entrance that will be missed on my part.

At least they didn't try to hook him with a 70s gimmick first.
He leaves peacefully.

He'll go to ROH and win the World title. You heard it here first Give him a blond wig, stick him in a sweat suit and trade him with Bobby Dempsey. Say the training finally paid off.

Mmmmh... I liked the guy, though judging by how things were (and ARE) on the WWE, I know he just wasn't going to last. Though, to his credit, he did get as far as one Wrestlemania appearence in his short career, which is something many wrestlers with far many more years than him never get to be part of.
And, in any case, I'm sure he'll be back (just like Arnie!) in TNA somewere next month. Doubt he's coming to Mexico, though.

And another spot opens up for a midcarder in the 2008 Royal Rumble! (Sadly, for those high midcarders released, this is what I think every single time...)

On the bright side, releases make room for OVW callups.

On the bright side, releases make room for Colt "Boom-Boom" Cabana and Paul Burchill. Specify'd.

Halleujah! Talentless, no charisma, and screwed up all the time. He deserved to be released based on that house show match with Taker alone.

Undertaker had no right to try and physically hurt him, even if he wasn't selling or whatever. You would think that 'Taker would be more of a professional.

Methinks there were several factors leading up to this: Primarily, he is the obvious fall guy to demonstrate how the E are "doing something about the steriods issue". That said, Chris Masters may have been set up for this day all along.
He was made to look weak when the Masterlock was first broken by Sgt. Jose Aviles of our esteemed U.S. Armed Forces. An everyman finally breaks the dreaded Masterlock after so many could not? HEH?
Then, the poor sap somehow ran afoul of Our Man H and was mocked live on national television. That didn't help his cause any. My guess is he not only failed wellness, but also failed to make the right friends in the business...
The final nail in the coffin (if you'll pardon the pun), was when Masters alledgedly no-sold the Undertaker, well... who in their right mind would do that? I mean, he's right up there with H in the list of influential people in the E workplace.
I liked his goofy facial expressions whenever an it appeared likely that an opponent might break his full-nelson, LOL.
Chris had the tools but he was a victim of the times; he was the witch to be burned at the stake, the sacrificial lamb if you will.
So, Chris, go to Japan or Puerto Rico and return someday with the killer instinct and experience that will guide you in your second WWE tour. You'll be the better wrestler for it.

Doc: "You're not gonna believe this, kids: In the future, Chris Masters gets released from the WWE!!!" Marty: "Um, I actually kinda figured that would happen." Jennifer: "Yeah, me too..."

Well Chris Masters wasn't being professional in the first place. He didn't sell properly his first "injury" properly, so he pissed off Taker. He didn't do that REPEATEDLY. Taker may have a lot of patience, but if a wrestler doesn't do their "job" (and I don't mean loss at that point), they deserve to be "punished".

That was kind of dumb. Chris Masters was getting the 60 day suspension. One more violation would have got him fired. They fired him anyways after serving several days of suspension?
