"THQ's WWF: No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 is coming back via the WiiWare service with completely updated rosters." www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164283This is from EGM, so it has at least some merit. They're usually right about half or 2/3rds of the stuff in their rumors article.

The only thing we really need for No Mercy is the ability to have more than four people in the ring at the same time. At least eight would be nice and maybe a few new moves, like the Redneck Destroyer (Murdoch).

I've always heard that it would be coming to the virtual console but the update could be interesting. The only issue is that it's an AKI build and they aren't with WWE anymore game wise. But I guess since it is THQ owned game it shouldn't be a problem.

If this happens, I say smurf the SmackDown! games. Playing WWF No Mercy was like being addicted to crack. Sometimes I'd play so long, when I'd stop, my hands would be shaking, weak, and sweaty. It was awesome.

Hopefully THQ doesn't decide to try to "fix" it.

Lovely, though I'm still holding out hope for WCW Revenge.

I wonder how this will hold up playing with the Wiimote and Nunchuck as opposed to the N64 controller

Now I'm a little confused... is this game going to be on the Virtual Console as an "updated" N64 game? Or is this actually going to be a bonafide Wii game that you buy in a store? I'm actually just hoping for a virtual console game.

Been waiting for this for a long, long time.... Should they even callit No Mercy, or should they just have a different name? It should get a new name but I don't care if they call it WWE No Mercy With Updated Roster, Moves and Matches as long as it actually happens. Imagine how good the GTS or the Pounce would look on it compared to the average Smackdown 2008 versions.

Umm....if the rosters are updated though, Cor Von won't be on there....hell, half of the ECW Originals won't be, either.
Although a "No Mercy" version of Elijah Burke would rock my cockles.
