I was going through the Domick Angle=Wrestlecrap? thread, and someone pointed out this observation of crap on paper but great in execution: i actually enjoyed the angle due to the great matches and promos we got because of it, but the thought of tony chimel declaring that "the following match is for the custody of dominick!" probably means that it does deserve inducting. What other Wrestle Crap moments would you hate to be the announcer and have you friends watching you when you tell them what you do? I'd hate to be That WCW announcer going: Ladies and Gentleman the following contest is schedule for one fall and is THE VIAGRA ON A POLE MATCH." I didn't even watch it, but I'm guessing he had to explain the rules too. |

It's kinda like those announcer guys who do the voice-overs for trailers of really bad movies. I can only imagine what goes through their heads when they're trying to say their lines all dramatic-like.

Not so much an announcer, but Randy Orton as GM for the night announced a tag team match for the wrong title.
Orton: And it will be La Ressistance versus William Regal...and Eugene, for the WORLD, HEAVYWEIGHT, CHAMPIONSHIP!

I don't remember the announcers having to say anything weird with him. He was from Hollywood, CA and accompanied by Marlena, what's awkward about that? I imagine that introducing Mr. Ass made the ring announcers question their career paths. Chris Hero often makes ring announcers make fools of themselves, but those are planned-out gags so they don't really count. Ironically introducing him as being from Metropolis is probably more awkward than anything. |

I don't know if awkward is the correct word, but unfortunate/bad times to be an announcer might be better for my example.
When something bad happens (ex. Owen Hart's passing-RIP) or when you have to announce someone no showed that should have been there that is a huge fan favorite (Sabu in ECW).
