It would be lousy, because he'd start pandering to the crowd and ... I'd get sick of him.
Nothing bothers me more than characters that suck up to the crowd to get cheered.

He was a babyface in FIP. He was pretty over too with the children. It could work.

Not every face has to do that. He could be like when The Rock first turned face in 99. Same character, but fights heels and eventually plays along with the crowd more.

Yeah, this is the only way that it would work. All MVP needs now is some catchphrases.

As an MVP mark, I wouldn't like to see that. It could work but I think it would make him less entertaining. Keep MVP a heel because he's good at being one. There arn't as many good heels nowadays.

He's kind of a face now. For all the harping about his sneaky plan to protect his US title, he and Matt Hardy are basically in a respect feud, and that's a face-face kind of deal.
Besides, all his character is, he's a cool, black athlete who gets into the best clubs, but also happens to deserve his success. That could easily work either way, just as a heel you play up the envy and as a face you play up the deserving.

Dude, wasn't Rob Van Dam the same?

It could. But I hope it doesn't happen for quite a while.

Please, no.
He's fine just the way he is.

He could do well as a babyface. In a lot of ways MVP reminds me of the late 90's Rock. It wouldn't really be too difficult to turn him just as long as they don't Cena him.

Please, no. He's fine just the way he is. I agree. And sorry, I don't think the guy has the charisma to turn face. All his heat, built up from being a jerk in his promos and acting like a jerk to Hardy, would be gone in an instant.

I could buy it, the kids could buy it, but it would basically be another Cena case if they do turn MVP.
That said, it's going to happen.

I could buy it, the kids could buy it, but it would basically be another Cena case if they do turn MVP. That said, it's going to happen. How? The guy's whole character was built on a heel gimmick. Overpaid, overhyped professional athlete. Turning him face will destroy his heat. I don't say this because I think heel turns are the solution to everything (because they aren't). To be fair, I'm not a huge fan of the guy myself and think he's very overrated. I don't think he's that strong of a wrestler (he's decent, but not incredible) or that great of a talker. When he tries to cut any kind of long promo, the guy ends up jibber-jabberin'. He works fine as a midcard heel, and given all the crap that's been happening in the world of professional sports, there's probably plenty of "RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES!!!!!!!!!!!" angles they could run for him down the line as the heel pro athlete character (Vick, Pacman Jones, whiny-assed Kobe, etc.). You know, once the company manages to get out from under the shadow of its own disgrace.

I would love it....someday. But the best faces come after being the best heels. MVP has not been the great character that he is for long enough. Wait until it gets milked before turning him face. WM 25- MVP (face) vs. Kennedy (c).

The Rock was an average wrestler, so I don't really much care if he has the uber movelist of a technical wrestler. Just as long as he has more than Khali and matchwork. I can honestly see him as a face and I wouldn't mind. Cena was a bitch because it was obvious he was a fake ass wanna be thug. MVP actually comes off as a ligitimate balla.
