With the success of TV on DVD these days... How cool would it be for WWE to bring out RAW: Season 1 and continue putting out "seasons" up through WM2007. The season finales of each "season" could be the last show before Wrestlemania and the first show could feature a brief Wrestlemania recap(something that covers the event but doesn't make the WM DVD worthless. Also to be included, bried results of PPV's throughout the season.
That said, do you think this could work? Would you pay to see it?
They could do this for Raw, then do Smackdown seperately. Maybe even a set that covers Velocity/Heat/Jakked/Metal all combined in the proper orders of course.
I'm sure some Saturday Night Main Event, WWE Confidential, and Tough Enough would sell too. I'm sure I missed a show or two but I covered as many as I could think of.

It'd be awesome...but terribly expensive. Because where most TV shows have 13 - 22 shows a season... WWE has around 50. taking out for recaps shows and such.

I would buy the 1993-1997 ones and the 2002-2007 ones. No Attitude Era ones because I figure each year would (hypothetically) be about 10 discs each, and probably cost in the neighborhood of $100. And I refuse on principle to pay that much for something that would be that heavily altered.

I think the best way to do something like this is to divide them up into three-disc sets, but it's impossible to have the full shows on there. It would be way too expensive.
I would make a feature on each year, WrestleMania to WrestleMania, showing the most important matches, angles and characters from that year. In the special features would be the top ten matches from that year, as well as the best segments.

It would probably have to be more like a "RAW: Best of Season 1" kind of thing.

I would prefer the full season of Monday Nitro.

Do you really want to spend 300 dollars or more on a years worth of Raw? I think it's cool WWE is starting to release their ppvs in yearly boxsets. They always have good deals when they go on sale. you get 12 or more ppvs for 70 bucks or less. Also WWE releasing the Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble boxsets is another great idea WWE has been doing.

I'd love for them to do a "Year in Review" and really touch on all the angles month by month for each year

I don't know if this is a fisable idea at this point, cause with the current state of DVD capacities, each season would have to be like 15-20 DVDS. I don't know if Blu-Ray holds more at this point, I assume a little. I think when DVD/disc technology/capacity starts to improve and become affordable, I do think that season sets of wrestling shows could be possible. Probably not for years, but not out of the question.

The idea is cool, but is the world really clamoring for the Bushwakers vs. Damien Demento and Repo Man showdown?
No.
It would be better to take 3 five year blocks, select a shitload of matches from each block and have the fans vote on which ones they'd like on DVD. Then release 3 "Best of" sets and away you go.

WWE needs to release a Saturday Night's Main Event DVD set. Especially because I'd like to see all the Randy Savage matches and promos. Those made the shows.

As others have said it would be way too expensive for each set for it to be worth WWE doing it. The only reason I could see them doing it is to stop tradrs making money by selling them. If they did I would probably buy the attitude era stuff.

D'oh. This is a no-brainer. Buy a DVD recorder and feed it a blank DVD as necessary. Then finalize it and take a permanent marker and label it WWE mm/dd/yy.
This will require your getting up out of your seat at least once.
