Surely it is a matter of when, not if. My working theory:
PPV following Survivor Series, Jeff and Matt will face Kennedy and MVP in a match where any pin can result in a title change. It sets up the Hardys celebration without making it too much like Benoit and Guerrero, while also only costing WWE one midcard title match.
Thoughts?

Any pin results in a title change? So what happens if MVP pins Matt... does Kennedy get the IC?
I'd rather just see Matt win the title at a PPV in a singles match and have them celebrate together. Matt deserves and needs a clean solo singles win over MVP. MVP has enough heat and charisma to get over that.

MVP pinning Matt would be a US Title retention...

They'd give Jeff the US title in that case, giving him both midcard titles and turning Matt into a Jealous wreck, finally successfully sabotaging his thought-unkillable face heat.

This kind of booking is stupid when TNA does it, so I cannot see a way that it would not suck in this instance either. They can both have some sort of big match at a PPV and have their moment then.

I hope they last until Wrestlemania. They could do it too. Then give Matt the big win,

A) The 2MPT was the main storyline in the WWF for a month BEFORE that match. B) One team had tag belts, the other both had singles belts. It made a little more sense than your suggestion. Granted, your idea is not as bad as some of the crap that Russo has booked for TNA lately.

Tag Match for the World Championship? no thanks Oh, and actually Russo probably is not to blame for that, he's not given THAT much control. Fortunately Dutch Mantel books like Russo if Russo knew about Dusty Finishes
