I remember on WWF Monday Night Raw in the early-mid 1990s when you'd hear Vince yelling "We're running out of time!"
I miss Vince as a commentator. I honestly hope he stops being a character and becomes the goofy commentator again. What I wouldn't give for one last horrible laugh.

THE REST OF THE MATCH CAN BE SEEN DURING THE FIRST BREAK OF ROBIN HOOD! GOOD NIGHT!!
Yeah, I hope Vince tears them a new one for that. Something like that happening 5 days before a major PPV is bush league. I don't even think they got the Raw copyright info up at the end.

I think it builds a lot more drama going into the PPV, as well as one of those "little things" that help with blurring the line of kayfabe. As well as making you want to find out what happened, a cliff hanger of sorts. Nitro was great at it because you knew if that happened, you could tune in at the beginning of the next Nitro and find out what happened. It was a little formula that worked very well, especially to boost the first hour ratings. And then just for enjoyment.. RAW tends to end perfectly on time with a stare down at the end.. well when you have a brawl while you're running out of time and they can't keep with it.. it feels less scripted, much more in the moment.

That did suck, but at least the end of the brawl can be made up by our imaginations.

The difference here is, I don't think we'll see that extra footage on ECW or SD. But my opinion is, cutting things off sucks and makes me feel cheated. Especially if it's not done on purpose. Trust me, no one was in a hurry to see Dr. Steve-O.

If anything major happened after they cut away, you can bet they'll put it up on wwe.com.
I love love love it! I agree that it makes the show feel less scripted. If there's one thing I hate about Raw, it's the way it ALWAYS comes to a succinct, finite conclusion by 10:05 or whatever time it happens to be. If we're supposed to belive in the suspension of disbelief, then this stuff can't just come to a perfectly wrapped ending at the same specific time every single time.
It's something Raw doesn't do nearly enough, and it was a pleasant surprise.

Funny how last week there was a thread about this exact thing and everyone was saying it was better when they did this because it made you tune in next week. Now they did it and everyone complains. My how fickle we are

I disagree. They usually cut off at 9:05 my time. Tonight my TIVO stopped taping before they went off the air. So they actually overran 7 min.

My how fickle we are I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that most of the people praising cutoffs last week aren't the ones complaining about them now. Different people. Different opinions. It happens.

Trust me, no one was in a hurry to see Dr. Steve-O. It's probably because the overrun of RAW isn't cut off by commercials, so they have to get to Steve-O to get to commercials. You may feel cheated, but think of this.. Would you rather have a wild, full fledged brawl going on and having the excitement of that, or the typical the faces win the brawl to send the live crowd home happy and everyone hit their finisher on one guy? Unless they were going to do something like have Sting appear from nowhere and take out everyone, I would think a cut off works better.

I like things like that to happen, as it's a change of pace from the face sees heel cowering up the runway and poses with his title and then fade to black.
And as for the Robin Hood/Nitro references, to be honest I wish WCW had done it more often as it'd get me to stay tuned.

But what i really miss was Jim Crockett yelling at the top of his lungs at the end of each nwa saturday morning program when they were cutting out of the main event.....I always wondered why didnt crockett (since he was an owner) to start the main event earlier? But seriously, his screaming "NO NO DONT GO" was classic
