From what I've heard, despite his stiffness in the ring, Vader is one of the nicest guys on the planet. Like a big teddy bear that will beat the crap out of you and then apologise afterwards. In relation to the Sandman interview, is anyone surprised to hear Johnny Ace and Stephanie McMahon painted in such a good light? After all the garbage I've heard about them, it's wierd hearing a guy say that they were cool to him and helped him out with anything he needed. And hearing him talk about frontal lobes and cerebrums was just ... surreal. I really need to make an effort to not judge people based on first impressions. Yeah, Vader's apparently a hell of a guy. My cousin always told me about him crying in the back when he broke his back and that Vader was the first guy that saw him in the hospital, if I remember right. And I wasn't really shocked to hear Steph painted in a good light, because despite making some really dumb business decisions, she does seem like a nice person. I was shocked to hear him put Ace over as much as he has. He's the only guy I can remember really putting over Ace like that. Charlie Hass and Mike Awesome both put Johnny Ace over as well.

Wow, his kid there reminds me of me when I was about that age. People older then me are talking about wrestling, and im filling in their blanks. Then their looking at me like how the f*** do you know/remember that?
I enjoyed that shoot a lot. Ive always been a big fan of the Sandman and it was fun hearing what he had to say about his WWE run.

How is it that ECW was allowed to use Metallica's Enter Sandman, but Vince couldn't or didn't want to afford it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't The Sandman's ECW theme a cover version done by Motorhead?

He doesn't know how old he is. Odd. My mom did that this weekend. She said at some point, you just stop caring.

It seems like he never cared about having a top spot on the card and just did whatever they said. So I cant imagine Ace and Steph or anyone having problems with him.

Sandman is hilarious. I don't think he was stoned/drunk I think he's just burnt out. I think Ace is just friendly with Sandman cause they tagged. Or am I mistaken? Wasn't Ace with Sandman as the Dudaicious Dudes or something surfer/skateboard related in the late 80s/early 90s? And I think he's talking about Summerslam 02 when Metallica was the featured artist. It only makes sense. Their last gap was from 97-02 I believe. And it just makes sense that Vince would say no. Why Shane/Steph (and f***...HUNTER) didn't talk him into it? I have no idea. That was a great Summerslam too, you know how awesome the HHH/HBK street fight (or was it a ladder match? I remember a ladder) woulda been if they fought up by Metallica and HHH gets heat off of tossing Metallica and their shit? I think it's cool that he wants his kids to wrestle, but I'm sure he won't let them do all the drugs. I'm suprised at how well-read he is as well. You wouldn't expect it from his Philly 'tude...he's like those guys in NY who come off dumb as f*** but own like 2 resturants and are making so much cash. Also, what was he saying about Paulie with the book? He didn't get it until November, and Paulie was the one who f***ed up the brand? I think idiot-savant is the right term for Paulie anyway.

Not sure about that ECW probably just didn't pay to use the song Motorhead did a version for the ECW album, but he always used Metallica's version. IMO, Motorhead's version is better.

What's weird is the Sandman seems to be a great dad, despite his drinking and chain smoking. Also What ECW DVD is he talking about?

To guys that are saying they can't understand him, come to Philadelphia and southeast PA. You'll hear that manner of speaking at every turn. Raven and Hack are the two typical accents you'll find out of men here.
Great interview, he came across as a good guy. So he smokes...so does a lot of this nation and the world...doesn't make him a bad guy.
Some of his American history was off, but still an entertaining rant.
