He's Michael Cole without the mustache. He has no knowledge of wrestling or the business and his mere presence is like having a pimple you can't pop. He must be related to someone who works with the company and given a job as a favor. That about says it all. Well put. |

While I was working during the summer chipping the slag off of tanks an idea came to me. Wouldn't it be great if Todd Grisham was repackaged into a homicidal barber? He'd ask them questions in his old boring way but as they were talking to the camera he'd take out his scissors and try to kill them, but they'd always turn back or walk away just before he'd stab them. This would happen for a month or two and hilarity would abound. Then he would be captured and reveal he never wanted to be a wrestling commentator anyway. He always wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK. Then I decided that was stupid, but Sweeney Todd Grisham was a cool name. So I named myself that. That would make me Todd's biggest fan. |

It's probably just me who thinks this way. But if you want to see Todd Grisham done well.... check out Jeremy Borash.

I am not a big fan of Grish because he is pretty bland, and he is a pretty weak actor (as we all noticed in the diva search clips). However I have always really enjoyed Michael Cole, even when he was brand new working on wwf live wire with Marissa Mazzola (AKA Mrs. Shane McMahon). He seems to me to be a classic Howard Cosell type of sports caster who never was an athlete but does a good job at announcing it. I also have never actually witnessed what others have said about him "not knowing anything" about wrestling. He has been doing that job for a while now, and I think he at least sounds like he knows what he is talking about. The problem with Micheal Cole is not that he screws up, but that he thinks he's right. Check out any of the Botchmania videos for his stupid comments and misnaming of wrestlers. That stuff can go unnoticed, but when he's called out on it, he gets defensive. Take the last PPV, for example. Rey does a headscissors takedown. Cole calls it as a hurracanrana. JBL: That was a headscissors, not a hurracanrana. Cole: Why not? Honestly, why not just make a funny comment out of it and move on? It seems like the guy doesn't like to be wrong.. |
