I picked it up today for the 360. Currently playing the season mode with Jeff Hardy. I have him at a 13% legend. The season mode starts off really fun, doing all these "extra" things to keep up your wrestlers health and popularity, but quickly becomes annoying having to do these things day in and day out.
I have two questions about the game.
Firstly, at the expense of coming off as a complete moron. How do you do a strong Irish Whip? Like the kind that completely throws your opponent out of the ring?
Secondly, how do you renegotiate a wrestlers contract. The wrestler I'm playing as keeps complaining about being underpaid, but I haven't stumbled upon the option of renegotiating his contract and when my contract was renewed I wasn't given the option to ask for a raise, it was just automatically renewed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I like it. Taking some getting used to with the new controls, again, but I picked it up this year easier than last year, and I like the roster, even if it is a bit thin. My only gripe is I can't play any ECW superstars in 24/7, and John is Nitro, not Morrison.

Oh, so it's one of those things that only certain wrestlers can do. You know you'd figure since they were making the game more character-personal, they'd have weight limits again. I'm not complaining or anything, but you'd figured that would been one of the things they'd brought back.

So does anyone know of a good, free music editor? I want to use some custom songs for CAWs but sometimes the song I want has a long intro that I want to cut out and stuff.

Audacity is your friend. audacity.sourceforge.netyou need a specific DLL file (that can be found on the internet for free) to export MP3s though

So did they break you yet, Godz? Did it to me this evening. But it's cool, I have enough whiskey and gin and pot to make it tolerable. O'Course that'll all be gone by morning.
I have a feeling this game blows sober.
Anyway, I got a little card in mine with a cheat code to unlock HHH and HBK's DX attire, "DXCostume69K2." Don't know if it's case-sensitive, don't know if it's only for PS2, but it unlocks it and buys it, so you can use it right away.
This game is bit lame even drunk'n'stoned.
I dislike how zoomed-in the default match camera is; you irish whip someone and they disappear off-screen for a while until the retard camera catches on and zooms out a bit. Or is it something I did? Can't you set a PS2 to different aspect ratios? Skrull.
What's an easy way to get Smackdown Dollahs, I really need to be Sabu as soon as possi-bile. Darmok. Fizz.

To anyone with the PS2 version:
What's the Diva report? Can you use them in anything other than singles and regular tags? Is a (gulp!) ladder match between female wrestlers possible? How about a cage match? How about an elimination tag?
If you answer "no" to all of these questions, then I save $50 for the third straight year.

Honestly, dude, I don't know the answers to your questions, but, if you actually have the self-restraint to not buy it, then don't. I'm pretty sure divas can be in tags, and 6-person tags, but most likely, not any "specialty" matches. EDIT_-M'Kraan.

Okay one thing that has been iritating me already is the lack of a manual target change. Agreed, manual targetting would be nice, but I never really used it in '07 because auto targetting works alright and the back button is kinda hard to reach in an intense match. Mine (360) is on the way from the Amazons.

Women(I'm not calling them "Divas") are a little better off this year, as they can finally be in 6-man tags and 5/6-man battle royals. Can be intergender too. However, still no cage/hardcore/ladder/HIAC/etc.

i bought it, but i have to admit:
if you're having doubts, save your money. it's essentially the same game and you're not missing anything.
but if you're an ecw fan, go get it.

Super Dragon vs. Sabu in a no-DQ match turned out to be "off the chain" as Tazz would put it.
Sabu managed to hit a few of his spots and fought back valiantly while Dragon was stiffing the hell out of him (at one point Sabu received a curb stomp on the concrete floor and bled like a stuck pig, although I think he was already busted open by that point thanks to his head being smashed into the announce table about 12 times and a well-placed ring bell), but in the end Dragon beat the homicidal, suicidal and genocidal maniac with a diving double foot stomp followed by another curb stomp.
Really, sometimes this game isn't that bad. Sabu even managed to botch one of his dives out of the ring.

From what I understand, you cannot manually change the targeted opponent. The only way to do it is to basically run in the direction of who you want to hit, and hope you don't hit the ref and get DQ'd. I still think Day of Reckoning had this down perfect. You use the right analog stick to point in the direction of who you want to target, and the focus changes. I realize this game already uses the right analog for grapples, but still I think that was the best way to do it. wait. ...they removed the ability...TO TARGET? ok that's it. I don't even think a league is worth it at this point. WWE SMACKDOWN VS. RAW 2008...YOU CHOOSE YOUR PATH...as long as it doesn't involve having to look at someone.

"Choose your path" as far as I'm concerned, is a load of bullf***. The only remotely heelish thing I managed to pull off was cheap-shotting Shawn Michaels after my very first PPV match while shaking hands with him.

So people in the US get to unlock the DX attires without paying $120,000, but I have to? Damn this crap.

No one wants to be the heel in a videogame. Everyone wants to be the hero, like Mario, or Link, or Kratos...[/thqlogic]
