I can remember loads of Bobby Lashley support all through last year, upto and including his ECW World Title victory at D2D. But then it seemed like one day, out of the blue, we all turned on him. Can anyone explain to me why we don't like him? Is it because he's getting pushed as a main eventer? if so, then isn't it a little ironic for all of us who say WWE should push different people?

I don't remember all of that happening, at least the part about everyone being happy about his ECW title win at the godawful D2D PPV.

I've always disliked him.
He's always seemed awkward as well as very boring to me.
Then..when I heard his promo against finlay..

When he opened his mouth AND when he showed he couldn't wrestle a match without botching horribly.
But that's just my opinion.
Bathturd.

I didn't mind him on Smackdown. But I couldn't stand it when they shelved RVD's quest for the title for Lashley a week or two before D2D. That did it for me.

He's always bored me to tears
Give me a mediocre worker with a sparkling personality than Bobby Lashley, the antithesis of the previous statement.
Or just give me Brock Lesnar, who I gave a damn about

I cant speak for everyone, but heres my problem with him....
He was getting a good midcard push on Smackdown and being built up. He was doing great stuff with Finlay and others. Then all of a sudden, for no real reason, he jumps to ECW and leapfrogs everybody and wins the ECW title.
Here is some midcard guy from another show coming over and being handed a World title and jumping guys who were move over and more deserving then him (RVD, Punk, Sabu, hell even Holly).
Then his whole ECW title run is made up of a fued with Vince McMahon and Umaga. He had 1 feud with Test and that was about the extent of his actual ECW fueds.
He was then shoved down our throats on not 1 but 2 shows. He was put in a position where he had to do a lot of mic work, which he is just not capable of doing.
He essentially was getting the same push as John Cena. With the difference being Cena actually spent years in the midcard and worked his way up to the point he was so over, he had to be a main event guy. Lashley was just forced upon us into that role. He was over, but he wasnt THAT over. He should have stayed on Smackdown, and continued to work midcard-upper midcard programs for another year at least. Let him get to the point were people are demanding he be main eventing. Instead they just took him a year into his career on WWE tv and said, ok, you like Bobby Lashley a lot now because we say so!
People can say what they want about John Cena, Randy Orton, and Batista. But at least those three worked their way up and were put into main event spots because the fans demanded it and it couldnt be ignored any longer.

I don't remember people ever liking Lashley.. the guy was so green and was obviously juiced, had no idea how to put on an entertaining match. He just started coming around towards the end of his ECW run.. and the only thing I remember of that is his jumping through the cage at Umaga bit.
He's just a big, easily forgotten wrestler. He's more or less the black version of Chris Masters... but Masters got a good gimmick to get over.

It's how I identify him at this point. Botching and inability to utter his lines clearly.

I dug the guy when he was having those 10,000 matches with Booker and Finlay on Smackdown. Two vets who helped him look like a million bucks. As soon as he was separated from them though? Got exposed really badly. Being athletic is great, but you have to develop the total package. Never should open his mouth either by the way.

I like Lashley and hope he comes back soon, Raw needs him, he'd make a credible IC Champion and maybe he could make that title mean something. Also how could anyone not like Lashley after his match vs. Benoit on the Roster Draft show and him facing Cena in a very good match at GAB.
Okay maybe he doesn't have the most charisma and shouldn't talk a lot but man the guy is impressive when given the chance to shine I mean he gave a legit Dominator to The Big Show at the Royal Rumble a couple years back and him causing the cage wall to fall on Umaga and being able to fly over the ropes in the Vengeance WWE Title match took skill. So why again do people hate him? If they booked him better I swear everyone would like him, A IC Title feud with Lashley facing Santino would do so much for both Lashley and Marella.

I've never hated the guy. I think he has a great look and he's a great worker.
As long as he doesn't talk, or goes to some speech therapy to get him to talk different, that should help a lot.
He would be great as a main eventer on the blue show.

I'm not a big fan of Lashley, but if he was booked as a monster heel and had someone talking for him, he could be pretty good.

Sandman said it best when he said Lashley was getting a shove instead of a push, thats why people stopped watching ECW in droves

I didn't mind Lashley until he got the Superman push. That crap really annoys me.

It all started in D2D. Before then I thought he was kind of a joke, being 280 pounds of roid muscle. I always thought he needed a new name since "Bobby Lashley" sounds too feminine. Lastly, he was really exposed during the Wrestlemania buildup, especially that one promo where he said "NO!" to Vince and gave him the googly eyes.

It's been suggested that if Bobby turns heel, he should change his look by growing a beard. The Spock's goatee effect, I guess. Does anybody else think that with a full beard, Bobby would look sort of like Kimbo Slice?
