why is that every time someone makes a guest appearance on a different show the announcers are so shocked? seriously it isn't like its the first time someone from Smackdown has shown up on Raw. Almost once a month that happens and every timethe announcers are absolutely shocked. It isn't like they jumped from a totally different company .do they think it has the same impact as say a WCW guy showing up on Raw? its the same as an employee from one store coming to another to help out. Do they really think someone at home watching is sitting in total awe "Oh My god Batista is on Raw!!! not SMACKDOWN "

It can have an impact, if it's once in a blue moon. Put it this way, when you turn on Raw, do you expect so see a Smackdown star? Not unless it was advertised, so you can see why you would try to hype it up.

If there was loyalty to one particular brand, then it would be more shocking. If all three shows had their own distinct rosters and storylines, which would be stuck to, then things would be much different.
The only time that wrestlers from different brands should interact is to set up interpromotional matches for WrestleMania.

This always happens around Survivor Series time, though.... I kinda wish instead they'd do a RAW team vs. SmackDown! team elimination match.... (and find other ways to work SmackDown Jr., aka ECW, into the picture)

I guess I don't mind it, especially since my schedule makes it tough to watch all three shows each week. For example... I missed ECW last week, so it was cool to see CM Punk on Smackdown. But that was the exception to the rule, as I rarely am able to watch Smackdown... so seeing MVP on RAW this past week was really cool.
I agree, it shouldn't be sold as if someone from a rival promotion has just invaded their territory, but since Smackdown/ECW and RAW don't travel together as a rule, it could be kindof a special treat for a fan who attends a RAW show to see Rey Misterio for a night.
