The Benoit book that came out last month goes into a little detail regarding the poor fact-checking by people like Nancy Grace. I think it was Meltzer who was quoted in the book that Grace was "clueless" when she began talking about the Benoit case, but that he was basically her wrestling advisor the whole time to bring her up to speed on facts. You can't blame Grace for not trying to know more about the subject, even though it seems no one in journalism can really get a feel for the business, just because it's run so weird and has such a bizarre history.

Everytime Meltzer would talk, she would jump in while he was in the middle of a sentence and attempt to finish it. Sounding even dumber in the process. Same with Alverez, and most of the wrestling guests she had on. |

Whenever Nancy Grace has no clue what she is talking about, she will start to yell and try to change the subject all the while attempting to sound credible about the subject she is blowing off. I feel that she should have stayed in the private sector instead of bringing her brand of "investigative journalism" and loudmouth, abrasive antics to Headline News...of course...she tends to fit right in on that network.
I really cannot stand her and her portrayal of professional wrestling was laughable at best because she clearly had no clue what she was talking about...ever.
And that is the bottom lines...because goodoldjl says it-a be so.

I don't see how the hell she could've won any cases. Unless all her juries were soccer moms that based their verdicts on hysterical emotion and ignored all facts.

I used to be OK with Nancy Grace, but her shameful performance in the Duke lacrosse case got her on my blacklist long before the Benoit thing.
Usually I can't stand watching criminal defense attorneys on TV because they never admit that anybody ever actually, in all probability, did what they're accused of. It's like they're all hoping to be hired in the case. Nancy Grace is sort of the polar opposite - a former prosecutor who seems to have never considered the possibility that anybody accused of a crime might be innocent.

The "news" media has been a sore subject for me. It may have been Nancy Grace or someone else on CNN who ran a list of wrestlers names that died from drugs in the last 15 years. On the list was Owen Hart and JYD. When the whole Benoit thing was going on, I thought it was funny that they brought on wrestling "experts" like Marc Mero, Steve Blackman, and The Warrior, guess with no creditablity on the case and an axe to grind. But like I said when CNN minced the facts on the Cena interview, if they are willing to twist the facts on something as trivial as wrestling, what else are they twisting facts on? On the same tolken, if Nancy Grace doesnt check the facts on something as insignificate as wrestling, what other topics has she not bothered to check the facts on?
