So what do we say?
How about a new 'Power Tripp' tag team, with Mr. McMahon as their manager?
Or perhaps a heel Ric Flair as the manager..

As long as Dusty Wolfe and Cruel Connection II form the said tag team then i'm all for it.

We already had a "new Power Trip". It was Cena and Michaels. It was also boring as hell.

No because why would I want to watch a match with HHH doing everything and Stone Cold doing nothing at ringside? If Stone Cold were 100% and could take bumps, then yes.

Really dominating singles wrestlers form a tag team that destroys everything in its path? Sounds about the same.

That's like calling Kane and the Big Show a second Power Trip.

That's like calling Kane and the Big Show a second Power Trip. Not the same thing, Kane and Big Show were never considered the two most important guys like Trips/Austin were. And if anything was a second Power Trip, it was Cena/HBK, they were so dominant it took every single other tag team in the WWE to make them lose the title.

HBK was not "really dominating," having not held the title in a decade. And while always "overcoming the odds," Cena never was dominant either. Cena and HBK were not a Power Trip Redux, they were reluctant tag champions whereas Austin and HHH were obsessed with the gold. Cena and HBK were also against the authoritative figures while Austin and HHH got into McMahon's good graces to be that much more untouchable. Austin and HHH were on the same page at all times, and ruthlessly beat down all comers. Cena and HBK were fair competitors as a tag team, but we all knew everything was building toward a split and a title match. I could go on forever here.
Also, I mentioned Kane and Big Show to point out how loose your qualifications for a Power Trip are, not because I actually feel that way.

"Cena never was dominant either". We'll get back to you on that after he returns and starts his next year-long WWE Title reign. HBK may not have held the belt in a decade, but he's still as big a star as Trips/Austin are.
The only difference between Cena/HBK and Power Trip was, as you pointed out, the face/heel thing. Other than that, it was very similar booking--give the tag belts to two hugely over main eventers who don't really need them and squash the tag division in the process.

Your comparison is pithy and your connection is fuzzy. Rock and Mankind didn't "need" the tag either, but they're never regarded as a meta-Trip. Big Show and Kane are former champions who held the straps for seven months, turning back everyone. Ric Flair and Batista might be up for consideration also. And look at the tag title history over on Smackdown: - Angle and Benoit
- Rey and Eddie
- MVP and Matt Hardy
- Morrison and The Miz
- Batista and Rey
