Did anyone else laugh, when the cole and JBL went on for 5 minutes how the ropes don't count for anything and then the ref made taker break the triangle choke? Both of them were dead silent for like 30 seconds.

Wait. So you are allowed to do anything you want in a HITC but, you still get rope breaks? Thats why Foley never won a HITC, he never went for the ropes!

The Hell in a Cell match is like going to a strip club. Sure, it sounds really exciting to see at first, but then you find out about all of the little rules that they enforce which disappoints, then upsets you. Naturally, it leads to you getting kicked out with your pants around your ankles and your ATM card missing out of your wallet.

I enjoyed the match but man both guys looked tired from the get go. Am I the only one who thought this? I will say Batista did a great blade job

I know Lesnar used the ropes in 2002 in HIAC at No Mercy.

You know what I'd love to see?
A Cell match where the Cell isn't actually used, the match never going outside the ring.
It'd be hilarious.

HIAC just isn't the same unless Foleys being thrown off it or being put through it.
RVD VS Sabu VS Foley would be a kick ass HIAC match.

It'd be hilarious. i'd love them to go to somewhere like new york or philadelphia, where they love a bit of blood, and just swap holds for a full hour, just to watch the crowd take a big, hearty, collective dump on the whole thing.

Even though it's dumb, they do this all the time in various NODQ matches.
Curious why the guy breaks the hold though. Even if the ref is going to stand there and bitch at him rather than count a pinfall/submission, it's not like he can DQ them.
Oh kayfabe, you are a fickle lass.

Well at one of the ONE NIGHT STANDS the ref actually tried to pull him off.
I'm sure they can claim it's just habit. They're used to breaking on the five so they do.

I'd love to see this in any kind of No-DQ match just once...........
Wrestler A has Wrestler B in a submission hold. Wrestler B makes it to the ropes.
Ref: "Ok, Break the hold............I said Break The Hold!!!" Wrestler A: "No. Ref: "Break the Hold!!!!! 1...........2.............3............" Ref: "..........." Ref: "4............." Ref: "5.............I said break the hold!!!" Wrestler: "And if I don't? What are you going to do about it?" Ref shrugs, walks away, head bowed down.

and it get's me that the ref. insists that the action remains in the ring. Why? Referees want to see good, clean fights. That's...what referees DO.

Hogan vs. 'Taker from Survivor Series '91 was AWFUL in that respect. Undertaker wouldn't break the iron claw, so Earl Hebner just kept counting, and started over at four for no reason whatsoever. Earl Hebner actually is not a great referee in the slightest.
