To come to the WWE, who would it be? I mean from all over the world, but please do not include the cockfighting MMA stuff. ( Unless a former wrestler is trying MMA )
You can just put up a name, but if you feel like it try to explain why you think your pick would fit in and benefit the WWE.
Also, do not choose not to post if someone else has already posted his/her pick. Explain why you picked yours - it might be a different reason!
My pick -
From TNA, the deranged Abyss!
I really like Abyss, in both his gimmick ( I am a sucker for crazies ) and in his work in the ring. I also enjoy his facial expressions through the mask. And I really love his Black Hole Slam since he can do it correctly, unlike some. ( ding Umaga!)
As to where he would fit, I would carefully build him up, sort of how Mankind was built up. But not with promos. Instead, Abyss would randomly attack and injure someone - and it could be on any show. People might tune in to see when this stranger would strike next. I would have the brutal attacks last for weeks, then the big reveal of Abyss.
He could attack say, Miz on ECW one week. Then Matt Hardy on Smackdown. Then say, a Diva on RAW. He might show up once a week - or three times a week. Perhaps more than once per show!
The angle would have Vince going nuts trying to find out who is taking out his superstars one by one, and a current enemy could trick Vince with a rumor of a 'new' wrestling fed that will debut soon, with several people with deep pockets funding this fed. Vince would send at first security out to find this attacker, but they find nothing. Then as the weeks go on, they start to find small clues left at the savage attack scenes.
Like a thumbtack, a dented chair that does not match the victims, ( Abyss hit himself ) blood - even though the victim did not bleed, etc. Closer to the debut, Vince will have recruited some wrestlers to 'find' this person, giving them camcorders to try to get proof. This I imagine could be done in a 'Ghost Hunters' light style. A couple of weeks before the debut of Abyss, the 'hunters' with the cams get attacked, and after the tape is played back, distorted/dark/grainy images of Abyss would show. This would excite fans both on the net, and only TV watchers. The net people ( like us ) would try to figure out who this person was.
In the final 3 weeks, the attacks stop which if done correctly would come off as much more scary than the brutal attacks themselves. 'Injured' wrestlers who fell victim to Abyss's early attacks would enter the picture on crutches, with casts, eye patches, etc. They will all claim to have seen different people, and I would tease other big names, like Sting, or hint at the big names. Example: (From Great Khali - via his translator) "Great Khali says that the person who attacked him had something on his face, like dirt - or paint. Great Khali says he could see nothing else but black"
Would have to be careful not to build up fans to expect talent impossible to get, like Sting, etc. The things you could do via the 'victims' are endless. One could say he saw the letters 'nWo', or that he saw 'won' or something like that. All of this would have Vince going insane, you know how he can get. Coach would be badly in fear, hiding behind Regal who is in not much better shape.
Sadly, the WWE no longer has the needed writing/booking talent to pull off such a long and complex storyline. It will have to live in my brain. 8(
