On the heels of the recently strengthened WWE wellness policy- which is supposed to close some of the loopholes- there is a huge fear among some of the wrestlers about getting fired due to it because there isn't a viable 'WCW-like' promotion out there. TNA isn't perceived to be on the same level as WCW because there is a lot less money and exposure. While TNA has a rep for hiring talent fired for drug issues in WWE, at this point they're not going to take a fired WWE wrestler who lost his job over a drug test failue unless he is a top level star or freinds with the right people in TNA- and that's a pretty small list.

there's one very easy way to alleviate that fear, ya know.
well, two, but the first is easier.

Hopefully this means Masters winds up in ROH, and the IWC explodes.

Hopefully this means Masters winds up in ROH wearing a sombrero, and the IWC explodes. Fixed for Wrestlecrap accuracy.

Hopefully this means Masters winds up in ROH, and the IWC explodes. Or he'll be treated worse than Jeff Hardy was at Death Before Dishonor.

wasn't the point of the wellness policy to get people afraid of using drugs and therefore getting fired? sounds like its working I agree. But at the same time, if WWE's serious about changing the drug problems, they need to somewhat alter what it is they look for in a wrestler and even the insane schedule. It's those things that are necessitating the steroid and painkiller problems in wrestling in the first place, imo. I can't imagine how anyone could have the time to train with their crazy schedule to look big naturally, and do that same schedule and overcome the injuries that come with that much wear and tear without the pain pills. It's a real unfortunate situation. I'm sure there's some genetic freaks out there who are pulling it off, but I think for most, it must be hard trying to sustain WWE's painfully unrealistic status quo of what a wrestler is supposed to look like.

Isn't the whole point getting them to be scared of using drugs and losing their jobs? Looks like it's working, then.

They should give every wrestler a month off at their choice or something to rest up and be with family... and get back in shape... that alone may be enough to keep it going better

Everyone always talks about how the WWE wants a wrestler to look. Now, while i agree Batista and Cena are pretty big, beyond that, who looks really big?

Randy Orton is actually really tall, but he's not too big imo... HHH, HBK, and Jericho are the perfect size imo and they've slimmed down. Taker is big but he makes it work so well and he's so agile you dont really think of him as a big guy.

Sabu and RVD weren't fired over the bust, RVD was just suspended and Sabu only fined $1000. RVD left when his contract expired and Sabu was fired 10 months after that. So yeah, it makes plenty of sense.

If they are afraid of getting fired for violating the rules, then that's good! They should be!
