I don't think my guy Scotty Riggs retired with an injury and stayed retired. I think he's stayed retired because nobody wants to book him in their shows.

You could add Nathan Jones and Muhammed Hassan to the list, though neither had much of a career. They might have problems getting booked now, but both quit while under contract and neither has worked since (to my knowledge) and both seem content to be out of the business.

I'm surprised that no one has said Lance Storm yet.
And because of that...

Lance Storm posted on his website that he has back issues, hence why he was retiring.

The Rock definately comes to mind. Big Show retired on his own, as did Dean Malenko. Wasn't Malenko going to come out of retirement to wrestle Benoit at ONS '06 until Benoit got injured?

Warrior does NOT count, for he clearly has a MENTAL ILLNESS on some level. A Mental Illness is just as legit as a physical one.

Steamboat had back problems, I think. I personally can't think of any examples.

What happened to Billy Kidman?
I haven't heard about him for years. I was thinking that he retired after he was released from WWE.

His injuries didn't come in the ring, but he didn't exactly retire by choice- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnum_T.A. The car wreck ended what coulda been an even better career, but on the positive side he did an interview with PWI a few months ago, and he's getting around with no trouble, living with his wife and kids and running a cellphone tower company. Wow, that's great to hear. I didn't know if he had ever recovered. Really wild he's married to Tully's ex. If it had been the other way around, Tully would have gotten massive heat from fans

I know that you haven't heard anything whatsoever from Chris Nowinski this year and he's been completely silent about the brain injuries that Chris Benoit suffered, and he hasn't spoken almost at all about his injuries or opened a foundation dedicated to researching brain injuries, but Nowinski had to retire after suffering Post-Concussion Syndrome. Big Show wrestled in a match earlier this year in Memphis against Hulk Hogan. Luther Reigns asked for his release from WWE in 2005 after losing interest in the sport (which was clear from his matches, lolz) and currently works in real estate, at which I believe he's quite a success. While I'm thinking of real estate, The Kat/Stacy Carter no longer works within wrestling for similar reasons.

Warrior does NOT count, for he clearly has a MENTAL ILLNESS on some level. A Mental Illness is just as legit as a physical one. Without referring to his on-screen character, his rants and writings, the UCONN incident etc, can you prove that argument with confirmation from a mental health professional? If not, then you should really not say he has a legit mental illness.
