I am probably wrong about this, but I belive the last time they did it was during the week that 9/11 happened. I know that it is impossible and an unwise bussiness decision to have Smackdown go live every week given all the more money spent on crews, flights and how having two shows at the beginning of the week and then one at the end of the week would cause so many problems; but can it be so hard to do it at least once a year or once in two years?
Make the show special, kind of how they always have the RAW Homecoming thing or whatever, but seriously what is it with Smackdown not going live in so long?

One of the problems is that there are differing standards between network & cable TV. An accidental booby slip on RAW canbe tolerated but one on network TV can bring the nation to it's knees like it did a few years ago with the Janet Jackson fiasco.

i think once in awhile wouldnt be too bad... like maybe if they had a 3 hour long yearly one to sorta "start" or "end" a season of smackdown or something

Actually the last time they did a live SD was in 2002 with Scott Hall vs. The Rock as the main event.

So we can all agree no Big Daddy V on a live smackdown show.

Well, the easy way around that is to... dress the Divas up slightly less tramp-fully for one night. Maybe, also, not have a Divas match, just have a skit or something with a Diva.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they have a live show because Eddie Guerrero died on a Tuesday?
And a live show now would either mean taping ECW with Raw or having a ECW only show.
