Rumor is going around on the various internets that The Rock is going to be showing up on the 3 hour special show after getting good money from Vince to show.
How messed up is this? Why would Rock try to get excessive money for this showing? I mean, it's supposed to be a 15th year special show to take pride in everything that has happened. To have Rock say no but then say yes only because he was given a better offer is absurd and insulting to the industry in my opinion.
Now that part of the deal is past, let's talk about what Rock will be doing on the show. I am going to take a wild guess, but I am thinking he will be in a nice suit, fully dressed. Why? I don't think the WWE would want to purchase a special 'super duper zoom' lenses just for this one show, seeing as the Rock has shrunk to just 1/3 of his full wrestling size, or more.
I don't even think Rock could press slam Mysterio these days.
But I could be wrong, and they will have him in a special wrestling match. The fan in me wants to say a one on one match between Stone Cold and The Rock - but only if it's an 'impromptu' set up. Like Rock and Foley ( if the WWE can get Foley ahhaah rofl ) do some classic mic work in the ring, then as per Austin the glass breaks and he comes out 'when he was not supposed to' and makes Rock look foolish. Rock would be playing the angle of the 'Retired wrestler gone hollywood type who does not want to fight, and is playing it cool in his expensive custom suit'
They would book Foley as the guy who is 'in' with the crowd, using funny facial expressions and trying to instigate a fight between Austin and Rock, while standing back playing to the crowd. I could see Austin and Rock falling for it then fighting, or then they both look at each other and turn their heads slowly towards Foley and then either verbally abuse him, or attack him and they do their finishers. Austin can still do the Stunner well, but I don't think the now deflated Rock could Rock Bottom Foley - unless Foley is wearing those new 'spring shoes'.
That is what the fan in me wants. What the true sadist in me wants is a massive beat down of Rock, lead by Vince, HHH, and Shane with other various wrestlers who were active when the Rock was on top. These wrestlers would be bitter that the Rock treated them the way he did back then, thus coming back to lay down the beating. This would be a good way to bring back guys for one shots to attack the Rock.
Whoever does the beating, I want it to go beyond what one would expect from this kind of show, to shock the fans. Meaning several stiff chair shots to the head, slamming him on the exposed concrete, 'breaking' ankles and hands, stiff trash can shots, using handcuffs to tie Rock to the ropes, having them blade Rock, but because of the 'confusion' in the ring the person doing the blading on Rock with something like barbed wire, cheese grater, etc would cut too deep by 'mistake' ( heehee..) and the Rock would on his own create a whole new level to the Muta scale.
JR and King would be the key to this, selling it hard that the Rock is 'paying for his previous sins', things like that. As to how it would end, it would be simple. No one would save Rock since he was an arrogant bastard in his prime, so they heels will leave and the video shot will go in close to a now destroyed Rock, while JR says his usual awesome stuff - and the shot goes black slowly...
So there we go! The fan in me, the 'normal' side would want the first angle, and the wrestling sadist in me wants the second angle.
My questions are simple to you:
1: Will the Rock show at the 3 hour show? Yes, No? Why?
2: Which angle as described above would you want to see? The first one, or the second one? Why?
3: Your best guess in % as to the chances of the Rock showing up. ( example ( 20% he will show, 80% he will show, etc. )
4: I want to make this clear, since after rereading this post it might seem I want Rock to get hurt for real. That is NOT what I am saying, I am saying you know one of those works where all of the heels beat the hell out of a person to the point where they are just really standing around the destroyed person, giving a stomp or so here and there wating for their 'cue'. The part where I said someone would by 'mistake' blade Rock deep was and is a joke/commentary on the backstage politics in the WWE!
