...what happened to Marcus Corvon? Did he get released or is he being repackaged?

I believe his sister died, and he went on a leave of absence to take care of her kids. After waiting out for a long time to see if he'd be able to come back, he couldn't, so they released him.
I think.

I think. Yeah, I think this was the reason. Doesn't look like he's coming back to wrestling anytime soon, either.

That awful. As sorry as I am for him and his family I can't say it doesn't disappoint me that I won't be seeing him on tv anytime soon. He was entertaining as hell.

He was last on tv the week before Vengeance back in June. He lost to CM Punk when they did the two matches to determine the match for the vacent ECW title at Vengeance (the other being Benoit vs. Burke).
After that, as mentioned earlier, his sister passed away, and he took custody of her children and was thus unable to travel with WWE.
They waited it out for about 4 or 5 months and finally released him in September I believe.
I know there were rumors about him going back to TNA since the travel is much lighter, but I dont know if theres any truth to that, or if hes done with wrestling completley. Or if TNA would even want him back for that matter.

Did that match with Punk ever actually happen?
I recall them advertising it, but then it wasn't on the show. Maybe that was another week, though.

There was a Punk/Cor Von match scheduled for ECW one time that was changed last minute, but that was a few months before June. This match is the one where Cor Von botched the powerslam and dumped Punk on his head.

Apparently, Monty makes alot of money as a personal trainer, so hopefully he'll be able to take care of his sister's children. My hats off to him for showing such responsibility.

It sucks that his wrestling career may, honestly be over while he's taking care of his sister's kids. But, at the same time, it's nice to know he's a stand-up guy.

I think he left on good terms though with the E.
Like didn't a report say he's welcome back should he chose so?

It's probably more of a question of if he'd want to come back. He doesn't need wrestling (personal training money and all), so I don't see him rushing back any time soon.

When my maternal grandmother passed away when my mom was only 14, the guy she was dating at the time could easily have left a family full of teenage orphans behind. Instead, he stayed behind and raised the kids as his very own, more so than my actual maternal grandfather ever did. I wouldn't be alive today without a guy that had the class that Cor Von did, so naturally I support him completely and literally wish him well in his future endeavors.
