I get it now! Dwayne Johnson WILL BE at the 15th year show!!!
But The Rock will not...
You see, Dwayne Johnson has moved on from being The Rock, and is just himself now. Don't you think he could show up as himself, the talent who PLAYED The Rock?
He could cut.. oops, I mean make an announcement that once and for all ends his ties with wrestling. He could put 'The McMahon family' over big time. He could thank fellow wrestlers who he was/is friends with. He then could truly thank the fans on the 15th anniversary show live for giving them the chance to preform for them over the years. And he MUST make it clear he is done, not even a small tease that might set the fans off thinking he will return.
Then again, some 'fans' would assume 100% that he will return if he came out and said only one line - 'I will never wrestle again'. Only the most insan.. erhm, devoted fan would translate that into his return.
So I hope Mr. Johnson reconsiders his choice to not attend. He could really use this chance to please the fans one last time, and totally seal up any connections to wrestling, coming back to wrestling, etc. This could finally rid him of the secret feelings I think he has on some level - that if he could just shake off the wrestling stigma for good, his movie career will improve.
Of course he has to say he loved wrestling, enjoyed working with Vince, etc. I am sure he did, but I would be shocked if he did not have a small part of him wishing he could rid himself of this aspect of his past - but in a way that won't make him come off as a ungrateful hack to Vince, etc.
Let's face reality. Mr. Johnson, in his gimmick as The Rock, was truly one of the best ever, he not only was a wrestler, he truly was an entertainer. And he was a smart guy to get out of the game when he did. He was lucky in my opinion to get out before a major injury. He was fortunate to get out before his face was damaged bad, including cuts from 'blading' to the forehead. And the fact is he is making more money in a pretty safe job as an actor. A very easy and safe way to provide for his family, and himself.
I for one am glad he is doing well outside of wrestling, *insert your chosen god here* only knows how damn rare this is for a wrestler.
So he is hoping Mr. Johnson will think twice about showing up!
