For those who said that the reaction on Monday to "Marty," "Razor," and "Diesel" was because they had been out of the spotlight for a few years, I point you in the direction of this video: ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ltJ2EEnSP9YWhy is it the fans in 2003 can remember a character who was no more than an interviewer in the late 80's and early 90's, but crowds these days can't remember some of the biggest names of the late 90's? Let's face it, the apathy in current crowds is kinda disappointing and killing some potentially fun aspects of the show, at least in my opinion. And look, even if I'm wrong, this is a heck of a fun clip to post. I miss 2003.

Actually, i think people just didnt listen. Marty Janetty got a reaction until the crowd realised he wasnt the real deal. As such they kinda twigged that Scott Hall and Kevin Nash weren't going to be coming out, so didnt care.
It was an awful segment.
However, the the poor reaction that Hayes got on Smackdown this week, right after a video showing who he was, does uphold your arguement that crowds at the minute just aren't as loud. Im wondering if its something to do with over use of arenas. If a crowd can see a show every 6 months or so, are they going to really care?

Well, I know that in 2003 my WWE PPV group was about 10 and now it no longer exists. I think that the audience has turned over recently. I know many people that used to watch and now watch UFC or don't watch at all. There seem to be a lot of kids in the audience nowadays and they aren't going to remember Jannetty or Razor Ramon until they get into the history of the business.

Nobody pops for impersonators. Simple as that.

It might be that the number of fans who watched during the '80s and '90s are decreasing and that fans unfamiliar with these periods make up a larger percentage of the audience by default. I'm not saying the newer fans outnumber the long time fans, but overall, the longterm fans don't make up as much of the audience as they used to.

The recent crowds have been downright disappointing.
If they're like this for RAW XV, it will completely spoil the show, IMO.

I think it will be a solid crowd, the New England ones are usually good knowledgable crowds, and they should probably remember a lot of these former stars.

They totally messed up that segment, they should have done "Razor" & "Diesel" first then done Marty but instead of impersonator they should have used the real Marty and have Mr Kennedy say that hiring the real Marty was actually cheaper than getting a impersonator.

Tomorrow's in one of WWE's three home arenas in CT (the others being the Mohegan Sun and Hartford), so they should be alright.

And that's why Raw XV should be in MSG or the Manhattan Center! We pop for everything and RAW started in NYC.

TNA feeds off older stars, hence the reactions haven't been as great as they could be when placed better.
