Ironic that I only have one thing to hate about The One Billy Gunn, huh?
Anyway, did anyone else find it annoying that everytime he won a match, or did anything special, an announcer (and it doesn't matter who I name b/c almost all of them said it) would go "Wow! He must really be The One!" I get The Matrix reference and everything, but that was so darn annoying, I wanted to throw a brick through my tv every time.

The only entertaining thing he ever did with that gimmick was interupting Edge, Christian and Regal and then getting owned by Edge. "I promise, Commissioner Regal. I will not "Billy Gunn" my KOTR win"

IIRC, his return as "The One" was as the "old friend" who showed up to console Chyna when the footage aired of Eddie cheating on her in the shower with the ho's.
I remember this because Billy was wearing a really ugly, oversized shirt that he apparently bought at the Rock's garage sale.

i remember jr hailing him as the most pure overall talent in the entire business At the time he really was. You ever see a man his size who could jump 5+ feet in the air? There's a reason the Fameasser isn't used much. Also, according to Al Snow, he was the fastest man in the locker room, as determined by a footrace.

Billy Gunn really did have his moments, but was always best used in tag teams.
His Jackhammer and Military Press showed he was a really strong mofo when he wanted to show it off.
It's too bad his gimmicks were often so goofy.

Yea but stuff like that fades and than you need to more and more rely on your ability to work a match using your head on how to hide how you lost a step. Billy never had the mind for it.

The one thing I didn't like about it was Billy Gunn.

Didn't he run and slide into the ring and almost reach the otherside?

Didn't he run and slide into the ring and almost reach the otherside? Yep yep, like Paul London, who accidentally flew out of it one time. Billy Gunn also might just be the man with the most finishers, though the Fameasser was always the one he probably should of stuck with.

You know a gimmick sucks when the one where you worship your own ass is considered superior.
