What about the Iron Sheik and Colonel Mustafa? When he debuted as Mustafa, Vince flat out said "That's the Iron Sheik, former WWF champion" during his entrance. Yep (but only on the Superstars of Wrestling version that Vince, Savage and Piper were on; the other syndicated version of it - I can't remember which show - that had Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes calling the match completely played dumb on who he was) I think someone already mentioned Piper doing the same regarding Saba Simba (Tony Atlas) in his debut, and Curt Hennig did the same while calling the Goon (Bill Irwin)'s debut.

The original 1933 King Kong Wow, and I thought me seeing The Da Vinci Code back in 2006 was a long time ago! lol, it was a special matinee screening of it back in February. Feels like it's been decades now, though.

The Human Torch in the late 70s, aka the reason he wasn't in the Fantastic Four cartoon and got replaced by H.E.R.B.I.E. instead.
There were two Son of He-Man cartoons from different companies in the works between the end of the original Filmation cartoon and the space reboot. Neither got made, but a few of the characters from both have been incorporated into the MOTUClassics toy line.

I managed to miss seeing Wrestling II during his active years by mere months; he left Mid-South in September 84 and I wouldn't start watching until around February of the next year. Even getting into WWF not long after that, I still never caught him during his run there, as he was mostly kept to house shows in former territories he was well known in. Fantastic worker looking back though. His final big angle, turning on Magnum, was one of the best "mentor" angles ever. Rest in Peace, John. He was also Jimmy Carter Mom's favorite wrestler. He was invited to the White House for the inauguration in 1976, but refused to take off his mask like Secret Service had asked, so he didn't go. I was reading last night that apparently the Secret Service confirmed years later that he was there, but of course the man himself would never admit it. So either he was there, or the Secret Service played a hand at messing around with kayfabe which is very weird the more I think about it. ![O_o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/browraise.png) I would not be surprised at all if he did attend maskless and kept the barring as a story to tell for kayfabe purposes.

I’m possibly reading too much into this, but is the upward facing stem of the champagne bottle some sort of symbolism? Sir, I have no idea what you're referring to, sir, but I'm certain there's no innuendo to be found there, sir. ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/l46CimW38a7TFxLVe/giphy.gif)

I think Jeff Dunham is really funny (most of the time, anyway). I love his work with Walter, absolutely fantastic stuff. I think every other character he uses blows.

Are we sure any of this is legit? Consider the source. Fightful is legit as a source. The others are only parroting what they posted.

Good lord, so many to keep up with now. The luchador community seems to be getting very hard the last couple of months. Rest in peace to all.

I'm actually right now running through the entirety of NOW Comics Green Hornet book. I'm kinda shocked at how good it was. I just wish the licensee hadn't lost their nerve with Mishi so quickly. There was a great article about that in Back ISsue magazine. Whoever owned the rights didn't want a female Kato. Now Green Hornet main series is really good. And some of the issues aren't easy to find. Plus there isn't any trades of it that i know of. Some of the spinoffs and mini series aren't that good. There was a fun Green Hornet in the future 3 issues mini that is worth tracking down. I think Dark Tomorrow was the subtitle to it. The first Kato solo mini was good. Not sure if all of the second mini got published. That is the thing with collecting Now and some of the other mid 90s boom companies,NOw I know was around long before the 90s boom, there is a few issues that either never got published or came out so late that most shops canceled their orders and the print runs are tiny. Like the MWC Quantum Quartet Flipbook I mentioned. I was going to a comic shop at least 2 times a month back when that mini was being published. Never saw the flip book. Never talked to anyone that saw it. And looking online it seems to have a very very tiny print run, under 3k which was tiny back then. Funny thing there is, I wasn't even thinking about the NOW revival in the 90s (apparently there was a third attempt at it a few years back too). The NOW I am most familiar with was the first incarnation, which lasted from 1985-1990. Oooh, another company that would be frustratingly fun to try to track down the complete works of is Blackthorne, that company that is mostly known for doing all the awful licensed 3D comics in the late 80s. I have some of their stuff like their Noid books and the mini they did for the Werewolf TV show, as well as one of their California Raisins books.

Isn’t this a religious/political thread that should be deleted since it’s against the rules? It’s my understanding that flat earth is a religious movement, and the problem with mocking people’s religions and beliefs like this on this forum is, it’s against the rules for them to defend themselves, so they have to sit there and take it. I feel like it’s unfair. While it has been incorporated into some smaller religious sects, the flat-earth concept and following is not exclusive to it by any means. I am not a flat earther but I consider myself to be pretty open minded when it comes to these conspiracy theories and I've seen some interesting arguments for it. The biggest one being that "The earth is round but its not a globe. Its like a flat circular plate. " So, a flat earth, then?

I never knew the repo man was smash at first Honestly, I didn't either at first; which is weird, because while his vignettes used a quieter, "sneakier" voice, the first couple of backstage promos had him using his traditional Smash voice and tone.

Brutus mentioned Baron Beefcake as a name someone suggested to him when he debuted in WWF. Was he mistaken given the online joke or was it really a name suggested? I think it would be cool if Barry Darsow in late 1990s came out to a Demolition gimmick as I think Saturday Night was so low on the WCW totem pole at the time that WWF may not have tried to sue. Suggested, never used. It'd be like if one of Steve Austin's legit aliases was Chilly McFreeze.

I'm certain there have been a couple of examples, but outside of a word or such that snuck through the live airing getting muted/censored, has WWE ever completely edited something out of their west coast feed that aired on the east coast feed?

I know that times were different back than With head injuries and all and it wasn’t WWE where this spot happened, but if that spot happened in WWE today (Obviously WWE would be Tv14 rated and not TVPG) and one of their wrestlers got permanent brain damage, wouldn’t they force them to retire? I'm astounded you feel the need to ask this question. WWE has forced people to retire with much smaller injuries than New Jack had and that's not even considering that he literally stopped being able to see out of one eye. WWE brought him in for a tryout match in 2005. I say "brought him in for a tryout match" instead of "gave him a tryout match" because they changed their mind after seeing him do some pre-show rehearsal work with Val Venis, thought he was the shizzling drits and didn't let the actual tryout dark match occur.

Were Baron Beefcake, Big Brother Booty, The Booty Man, Brother Bruti, Brute Force, Brutus Beefcake, The Butcher, The Clipmaster, The Disciple , Dizzy Golden, Dizzy Hogan, Ed Boulder, Eddie Golden, Eddie Hogan, The Mariner, The Man With No Face, The Man With No Name, and The Zodiac the same character? Baron Beefcake doesn't exist and never did. That was added to his online aliases as a joke by someone and never got corrected. I have yet to see any proof he was ever referred to as "The Man with No Face" The "Mariner" is the only one that wasn't ever canonically Beefcake. (Also, while that gimmick happened, it never had an official name - people call it Mariner now out of some supposed connection/resemblance to Waterworld, even though that film didn't come out until four years after the gimmick) All the Dizzy and Ed/Eddies are the same guy. Beefcake and his succession of gimmicks (Bruti, Clipmaster, Butcher, Man with no Name, Zodiac, Booty Man, Discple, Brute Force) are all the same guy. I'm not sure if they ever canonized the Dizzy/Eddie stuff back into his "lore" during his WCW days but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't at least mention his time running with Hogan prior to the Beefcake run.

I’ve never figured out who, but Matt Groening said that an artist told him his deepest secret is he performed all the music for the Chuck E. Cheese Band. Gordon Lightfoot. Source? Not finding anything via Google regarding that.
