as someone who considers himself a member of the FGC, this crap got so out of hand it makes me lose faith in humanity.
yes, one guy is accountable for thousands of people... give me a break.
y'know, I've literally been losing sleep over all this drama. like I can keep telling people "we're not all like that I swear!" I could point them to all the articles about people trying to make the community better from inside, but no one cares. Everyone just wants to make up their mind about the one thing, go away, and then complain about the next thing.
By tuesday everyone will forget about this and complain about some jackass making homophobic comments about mass effect 3. tis the way the world works I'm afraid.

Hold up?
People honestly think he is being serious about wanting to murder his son if he was gay? Really? To me that line screams "this is me being insanely over the top with this schtick, don't take anything I say seriously."
iono, maybe that's just me.

He said he would stab his son if he was gay, that gay people are a mistake, and that gay people need to stop complaining about being bullied because bullying is nothing to worry about. I'm failing to see where the jokes are. I don't think he said it like that, lol. what we're reading is the recollection of an offensive joke by someone who was offended by it. Most of what was said was verbatim, and not a direct quote. unless video surfaces we're not really going to fully understand just how the jokes were said or how over the top the jokes were (and if I were to guess, the jokes were intended to be extremely facetious). So.. yeah I'll just repeat what others have said and say that we really don't know what he said untill solid evidence is presented. For all we know this could just be a blogger who is pissed off at Tracy Morgan for whatever reason and wants to make him look bad... for whatever reason.

went to the arcade yesterday for a tourney and some casuals.
Promptly got my ass handed to me in casuals (they had a custom arcade setup, and I'm not used to stick and especially the MK layout).
Somehow managed to go up against someone's girlfriend in the tournament which allowed me to get to round 2, in which I got eliminated by a jade player.
Fun times to be had.

APIMPNAMEDTHWAK you know, a reference to this (NWS): It's a bit stupid that they'd make you change it, but never notice the little kids that make swear words & racial slurs with creative use of numbers. Well if I really wanted to be a dick about it I could make a case that the word pimp doesn't go against their TOS and say that through the evolution of american slang the word only has a loose connotation with sex. But I don't want to push it. It's there service and they didn't charge me for changing my username so hey I'll take it.

I liked it. I thought it was good, not great, and was pretty disappointed with the stinger. some more nuanced thoughts: {Spoiler}I think the love story was fine the way it is. I understand the disappoint in it not being given enough time for it to be as developed as everyone would have wanted it but then it would have taken away time from the asgardian aspects of the film.
While it's a bit odd that natalie portman's character falls for him as quick as she does, the relationship serves the purpose to develop thor's character. It effectively makes him more human and more empathetic. Would it have been more sensible to just make them friends? Yes. But audiences wouldn't want that, and in a movie in which the freaking norse god of thunder comes to earth it's ok to have a somewhat fantastical relationship.
As for loki, other people got me covered on that so I'll just say they addressed his jealousy and move on.
The stinger is really really cool, if you're a comic book fan and you recognize that that's the cosmic cube. If you're not it just gives us more questions than answers. Other than that, I'll just ask this. Did anyone else say "I HAVE THE POWERRRRRR" in their head during one pivotal scene in the movie?

From what I've read around the web here's the lowdown on the patch:
They're nerfing kung lao's damage (no idea why, his damage isn't really the issue it's how safe the spin is) and they're nerfing ermac's damage (this I agree with because the gravity squeeze is overpowered). Other nerfs include getting rid of cyrax's bomb trap and smoke's OTG smoke bomb.
As for buffs, they only buffs mentioned so far are kano and baraka.

ok, after a couple more hours of playing shang the general strategy with him is to zone people out using ground skulls.
Since you can juggle into another ground skull, and since the close ground skull is apparently safe on block, the idea is that you want to put ground skulls where you think your opponent will go on screen.
Another thing is that, according to tom brady, shang tsung's up skull is very good on block and can be used as a way to get it, like if your opponent put themselves in the corner after a bunch of ground skulls and you want to punish them with a crazy corner combo.
Also shang has crazy corner combos.

I'm wondering if I should attempt to learn shang tsung.
you see I'm torn, I mained him in MK vs. DC, but the newer shang is more like the MK3 shang. I've also been messing around with him and I can't really figure out how to play him properly, like I can with stryker.
Plus those fireball combos are tricky :-\

The funny thing looking back on mortal kombat 1 and 2 is that you start to realize how terrible scorpion was. Like you could hardly combo with him while the rest of the cast could do crazy juggles flawlessly. Anywho, I beat storymode yesterday in a marathon session. That final boss is annoying untill you realize that you just have to be REALLY PATIENT and wait for him to attack so you can punish him {Spoiler} mostly with a teleport superman. That's pretty much what that final fight comes down to, wait for shao khan to do a move, teleport, superman, repeat. you can also combo into it if you feel really risky, but the teleport superman seems to be to safest strategy And besides that I'll probably main stryker as he has some very good pressure tools. holding out the gun while being able to cancel into a dash, plus dash blocking makes him able to shoot you at any time. Now if I can only figure out some anti air gun combos I can beast dudes.

In terms of strategy games I recommend civ V and civ III
Civ IV, to me atleast, was firaxis digging themselves a niche and making the game enjoyable for people who really liked the civ series but also making it hard for people just getting in. Civ IV also has a bunch of random BS (barbarian spawns, random events, etc.) that just make it feel like more of a game of luck than an actual strategy game.
Now if you really want to go down the crazy strategy game rabbit hole you can also get rome total war on steam (the cheap total war game for those just starting out on that series) and if you REALLY want to go crazy gog.com has master of orion 1 and 2 bundled together for 6 bucks.
DON'T GET MOO3, just don't.
Fallout 1 and 2 are also good, but they have their annoyances (fallout 1's timer and fallout 2's tutorial being the most glaring).
Torchlight if you want a diablo clone that's actually better than diablo.
The King's Bounty series is interesting if you want to play a might and magic clone.
As far as adventure games go, anything by tell tale (except hector badge of carnage, which wasn't even developed by t.t.) is a good start.
I'll think of more eventually, but you should have hours upon hours of gaming just from these suggestions alone.

A rather crudely animated show like Bob's burgers has to be infinitely cheaper than a live action science fiction show like Firefly to produce. Did you ever watch firefly? It looked really cheap. like reeeeaaallly cheap. The reason firefly got canceled was because one of the producers who helped create the show left and was replaced with another producer who didn't get the show and basically tried to sabotage production. And as a general rule of thumb, most live action is cheaper than animation. p.s. On the flipside animation is also harder to "cancel" a season due to how production on animated shows work. To put it bluntly, once you order x amount of shows for an animated project, you pretty much have all those shows no questions asked. Meaning, even if you don't order any more shows of an animated project it still makes more sense to show the remaining episodes instead of yanking it off air. With live action, you can halt production before it goes to filming. But with animation once an episode is ready to be aired week 1, most of the other episodes are ready for the consecutive weeks.

The problem with fukushima is that it's going to take literally decades in order to clean up the reactor site.
I've heard figures of ten years to as high as one hundred years to clean up all the radioactive materials, and who knows what that means for the areas around the reactor.
And the craziest part of all of this is that this disaster STILL isn't as bad as chernobyl. In fact it's only about a tenth as bad. which while that's still a disaster, most of the chernobyl comments are just sensationalist.

Not saying you don't have a point, I think your view on it is well justified. If any show's story isn't good to you and you don't have much of a taste for the style and humor or enough of one to get over the other flaws, then you got a right to hate it. I got those shows myself (ALOT of Toonami's anime after DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho fits there for me...Outlaw Star, Tenchi, Gundam Wing, etc.) that's funny because I consider outlaw star to be my favorite anime of all time, lol.
