Kershaw out with his yearly injury. May and Buehler can’t come back soon enough. It is no surprise how guys like him and Felix Hernandez fell off their prime by the time they were 30 but at least with Kershaw he has been able to maintain being a above average pitcher He can realistically retire today and be a no doubt HOF. It’s sort of an understanding with him (and when they resigned him) that you’re not paying for a whole season. You know he will be sidelined, you just hope it’s not at a bad time. If it’s something he can come back from Dodgers have to sit him extra no doubt though. Like I sad hopefully a Buehler and May return cover for it, I’m not trusting Gonsolin, Anderson, Heaney just yet lol

Well guess what? Sarray vs Satomura never happened! Blair came out, said that the match wasn't happening, and then the NXT UK GM came out and said that a new #1 contender would be crowned for the NXT UK Women's Championship. They never explained why the match wasn't happening either. Just that "it's no longer happening". And this was after the spent the entire episode and pretty much the past month hyping it up. Sarray got screwed over again, and I'm at the point where she just needs to leave this company because she deserves so much better than to be treated like absolute garbage (because that's what I'm taking away from this past week involving her). That’s so trash lmao. The only positive you could read in that is that’s maybe they need her to be in the US for angles and—oh wait who are we kidding here lol. Sarray needs to get on the train back to SEAdLINNNG shows.

Starks should be thrown to the frontlines anyway but just a reminder that he worked it so hard Asuka/Veny lost it.

It was by no means the best but ruining the Tensai gimmick had that supernova-esque sweetspot of being gold for like 48 hours and then everyone's interest immediately expiring.

Sarray is definitely good, imo she's the best joshi from a talent standpoint they've signed behind Asuka. She was on fire before coming to WWE with MOTY level stuff on a routine basis.
But I wouldn't ever expect someone just watching NXT to care about her or feel close to that at all. The majority of her stint in NXT has been wrestling 5-6 minute matches, largely with extremely green talent. She does like 20% of her moveset and spends most of the matches setting her opponent up at slower and softer pace than she usually wrestles. Half of that is to be expected with WWE since nobody can wrestle like they did before getting there, but it just feels amplified with her.
The transformation gimmick was fun for a bit, but at the end of the day it's still a 26 year old woman inexplicably wearing a school uniform. In Japan Sarray was a hardnosed ass kicker with a chip on her shoulder, and exceled at putting on longer matches than other, tag work, etc. She doesn't need 25 minute epics to succeed but spending half of a six minute match doing hope spots with rookies is such a waste to me. She should really be trucking people and just being an NXT US version of Satomura only less final bossish. That should have been the point of the transformation from both an impressive and comedic point. Just seems very circular in terms of presentation and it's been long enough where something longer and more meaningful should have come up by now.

Was expecting a little more from the Dodgers but absolutely get why they did it. Trying to stay out of roster crunch with Buehler, May, and Treinen coming back.

In what may come across as a hot take but I don't think is, I think KAIRI'S matches since returning have not been that good. I don't put that on her singularly of course, but I felt they were lacking. I thought tonight was her best match since coming back. I think teaming with Nanae has a lot to do with that but it's a reminder I often forget that when wrestlers return after a while it takes a few matches to get back in the groove and good ones like KAIRI just eventually kill it.

Dunno about the likelihood but with Asuka/Veny being in the states right now then again in September it’d be cool to see AEW book her.

Yeah I wouldn't want the Dodgers giving up something like that for him, but even if you think Castillo is just the best pitcher in a shallow market, I think the Mariner's mentality is "we are going to do everything to get our fans the playoffs" and that's kinda cool.

Not bummed exactly, but was sorta thinking Dodgers were going after a starter, but maybe they are viewing Buehler and May coming back as starter "acquisitions"

Shida seems to be pretty active in taking Japan dates, outside of Makai her schedule is pretty varied. Ice Ribbon against Ibuki Hoshi this week, then presumably challenging Suzu Suzuki for the Regina di WAVE title in WAVE, and one doozy of a match--her, Arisa Nakajima, and NATSUMI vs. Jaguar Yokota, Aja Kong, and Kyoko Inoue. That last show has KAIRI in the opening "talk battle" segment, pretty studded lol (it's a charity show for Shinjiro Otani, so that makes sense). Oooh Shida and Suzu Suzuki sounds interesting, she's stood out whenever I've seen her in prominence or DDT. Shida seems comfortable in hardcore matches too. Yeah, Suzu is pretty much a prodigy at age 19. In WAVE it would likely be a straight up match but you never know since Shida gets into that stuff when she can. I imagine AEW might have a say in that though.

Kairi would be a logical choice as first champion Think it would better to put it on a full time talent you can actually schedule around.

The hinted mixed tags for the stardom/NJPW joint show kinda hint at who will be in contention but not completely, since they can’t do all of them. I would say Utami and Mayu are up there for candidates. Tam, Giulia, and Syuri are up there but will be busy with main title stuff unless they don’t care about doing double titles. Saya obviously has KAIRI to deal with too. It’ll be November though so the title landscape of stardom will be much different.
I just hope they continue their newfound interaction with outside Joshi so something crazy like Suzu Suzuki being IWGP champ can happen lol.

Suppose it'll be their equivalent to the "International Princess Championship" of TJPW? A belt held by outsiders and those who face outsiders regularly? Stardom has the SWA belt, which the rules for matches state only wrestlers from countries other than the reigning champion can challenge it. (There are loopholes to this, for instance Syuri can use her Filipino heritage, Giulia Italian etc, and Fukigen Death can just say she’s from outer space). I have a feeling this will eventually be against more outsiders on Strong and even WK, but in the immediate will probably be used to promote Stardom wrestlers to NJPW audiences. Bushiroad noted that since they’ve been running Strong and after Forbidden Door they’ve seen that in doing shows overseas it’s hard to do it without women, so I think they especially want to add that appeal to international shows. They should really just unify the belts though
