As an AEW Original, it would make sense for him to fight against The Elite. He'd prolly end up making Okada brain damaged. It's almost like the opposite of how Heath Slater and to a certain extent 2point0 have had reputations for being safe enough to be the kid gloves handling legend matches.

Honestly, for as fun as the Inner Circle was in early AEW, it's kind of flabbergasting how pretty much nobody from the original version has been able to carry any of that momentum, through extenuating circumstances or otherwise. You've got everything with Santana & Ortiz, Hager's pretty much at the point in his career where he's either going to be a stable enforcer or off TV, and Sammy is just... probably the most painfully stale Year 1 AEW guy who's changed things up less than even Jericho has.
He needs either a change of scenery or something, anything, to freshen him up, whether it's a non-Jericho tag partner or bringing back the damn panda head.

I'd love it to be a thing where anybody with a more elaborate entrance or that usually plays to the crowd more, still does all that instead of, y'know, running to the ring ASAP, and while they're mucking around, someone hits an instakill finisher and by the time they realize what's just happened, it's over. Especially if commentary has played up the whole "new entrants can break up pins" and so on and so forth.
It can then be the sort of thing that other wrestlers and backstage interviewers and Tony Schiavone can repeatedly point out that "hey if you had actually hustled to the ring..."

By game show standards, the original Press Your Luck only being 3 years, when arguably most of its pop culture legacy came from being rerun on USA for close to a decade afterwards.

I want a wheelchair, I want a neck brace, I want him bandaged up head-to-toe like the Yet-ay. Oh please, they've got enough money they can at least afford a Captain Pike-style electronic model with the beep-once-for-yes-twice-for-no sort of thingy.

I've really got no horse in this game, but it's kind of fascinating seeing the "good, I'm not going to miss it" responses in this thread, especially when I think to probably the last time that the 'E had really scaled back on pyro. Feel like that was also... Ryback-era, and folks were complaining about missing how pyro made things feel like a big deal and so on and so forth.

Right now my audio is like how I imagine it would sound to drop acid and then wander through Munich Oktoberfest.

This is going to be one of those shows that TK apologizes about and ends up getting him like the slot before Collision to rerun Dynamite with proper audio, isn't it?

I swear AEW Sound Guy has gotta be like the wrestling version of Hogwarts defense against the dark arts professor.
It's not like this isn't literally the venue they should be by far the most familiar with or anything.

I feel like Max is either going through some shit or burning out or both and it's been going on for a while now. If it's the former, while I completely understand and hope he is able to get help, emphasis is on GETTING HELP and not just letting it drag down his ability to do his job well or his ability to behave around others, coworkers or randos online as the case may be. It's kind of conspicuous in hindsight how they've been keeping him from having a live mic, and his first rap back in ages... kinda sucked, so yeah, it's kind of egregiously affecting things. I'd just rather not see it progress to the level of Cow Blood-era Matt Hardy at the nadir of what HE was going through.
In terms of what to do with the Acclaimed, honestly I think Bowens is more than ready to get into singles competition, though with how stacked yet weirdly aimless the AEW midcard can be at times, I'm not sure which direction he goes at first. I'm still thinking over the likes of Preston Vance having their big breakout moment and then... not doing anything, though I'd definitely argue that Bowens has more potential. Bowens is literally just about the best LGBTQ+ ambassador you could ask for, so I don't see him going far if Max gets taken off TV for whatever reason, especially since they already seem like they've been heading that way with easing Billy to the forefront recently.
Honestly, just give me Bowens with Billy Gunn as his manager and occasional tag partner and I'd be cool with not seeing Max again for a while.

It's strikingly well-done for what it is, which is to say a young kids' slice-of-life show with developed parent/family characters and writing good enough that if you're roped into watching it with them, it's not a drag to sit through. If I'm visiting family and the younger kids put it on, it's not something that evokes groans from the adults in the room, I guess. It's also honestly a rather pretty show that's arguably better-looking than it necessarily needs to be in terms of backgrounds and so forth. I also know folks who like it just because of the mild exoticness of it being a very Australian kids show.
But I dunno who's putting it on a pedestal near Sopranos or Breaking Bad because that's... that's not even an apples to oranges comparison, that's like apples to... I dunno, cigarettes or something. It's not fair to any of the shows involved to try to make the comparison just because of how absurdly different the target audiences are, for one, but people do admittedly love to exaggerate for dramatic effect, so, eh.

Imagine how I feel, Peoria hasn't had a televised wrestling event since TNA in 2015 (Before that, WWE in 2007) and THIS is the card we've given. Damn, haha. One of the things I've definitely appreciated about AEW is that it's never felt like the cards were half-assed for smaller market events or that any given town was treated as not important enough to get X match or Y wrestler.

More of a personal example of getting fishy vibes from someone early on... Catholic school growing up, circa 5th or 6th grade, we had a priest for a few years who had some rather interesting stories and anecdotes he would use while talking with the students (and seemingly only just when talking to the students, I don't remember anything similar showing up in his homilies during mass). He was also a Franciscan Friar and being the immature kids we were, there were always the whispered jokes of "I bet Father So-and-So isn't wearing anything under his robes", as one does. Didn't help that he was an older priest replacing a popular younger priest that we had all liked.
So basically when I found out years later that he had been defrocked as one of those priests (though admittedly it had all been before he started at my parish), it was almost ridiculously unsurprising.

Kyle O'Reilly looks like he has been wandering through the Upper West Side of Manhattan trying to find a bodega selling a specific flavor of 5-Hour Energy.

It would erase the LGBTQ+ community and activists fighting for real positive change there. Queer and trans people in Southern states aren't disposable. You said it better than I've been trying to say it. Far too often the online discourse when reacting to stupid legislation or what have you is basically either pretending that red and purple states don't also have LGBTQ+ folks or being like "well just move" which is unhelpful at best and downright patronizing at worst.

As a West Virginians who bleeds Old Gold and Blue and vehemently defends this state against the stupidity of stereotypes and such while also being continually disappointed because I KNOW my state can do and be better? Goddamn did I feel this. Ohioan with WV blood, now in NH. I've had entirely too many conversations with folks who seemingly expect me to publicly denounce my upbringing and/or Appalachian heritage. Or variations of "If you cared, you'd leave." I'm sorry, you can't expect us *all* to move to NYC, Seattle, or California, but I digress. It also reminds me of how folks were far quicker to dismiss the Charleston crowd outright the other week, as if there haven't been any other places where a handful of idiots have chanted stupid shit during Dynamite.

While I get the idea behind basically boycotting the state in response to this, I've always found that a bit unfair to fans who just happen to live there, especially when this is BS from an unelected position as was pointed out. It's one of my big bugaboos when people are like "this state is entirely bad and needs to be shunned from the world entirely" as folks frequently are when stupidity like this goes out, but that's another rant for another time.
What I'd rather see, would be if there are any sorts of events that they could run that *wouldn't* fall under the auspices of the athletic commission, like a fan festival or basically a non-wrestling event. You're still supporting the fans but it's still an appropriate middle finger to the state government if done properly.

He’s yelling at Chris like he’s a bad doggy Now I'm just imagining wrestlers trying to keep Jericho away from their segments with the little spray bottles.
