Jericho in short trunks makes his age so damn obvious. There are some wrestlers who can get away with wearing the short trunks pretty much well into their late career, particularly the puro style that's cut a little higher up. Jericho has just gotten weirdly barrel-chested with age in a way that does not flatter his figure at all. Granted, that might be deliberate at this point since I'm fairly certain that was also at least part of the reason he first switched to trunks in 2009.

Aside from the one-off Jerishow reunion, I don't think Jericho's rocked the short trunks since one of his NJPW matches where he looked horrendously out of shape. At least they're new?

Jack's well on his way to looking like Robby Steinhardt of Kansas and it weirdly works for him.

Assuming this isn't part of the angle, now I'm wondering if it's a thing where Chuck's prior injury was worse than expected or recovery didn't go as well as hoped, and it was basically a "you've got one more match to wrap things up" kind of a deal.

Re: AEW and their sometimes perplexing grasp of geography, the random-ass Youngstown show in between Des Moines and greater DC has me scratching my head, particularly when it feels like it's been a hot second since they've rotated through Cleveland or Columbus.
Also wouldn't be opposed to something north of Boston like Manchester, Burlington, or Portland, but aside from Montreal or Quebec City I think Boston is about as northeast as they're likely to go.

Is it just me, or is Cope growing his hair out again? Not sure how it'd look and I seem to recall him specifically saying the first time he got it cut short, that he didn't want to be however many years old still with a ponytail, but now I'm kind of curious how it'd look either way.

There was the Darby/Sting vs Team Taz match which I recall being very Darby but that made more sense for them in particular. I don't *think* I'd count the Stadium Stampede matches though I'd say they were almost kind of a hybrid.
I feel like there's a niche for them but they're best used sparingly for the reasons mentioned. The best use I could see them would be either for shows that you know are going to be entirely pretaped like before a PPV or major travelling, because then you could just take it whenever and you wouldn't have the live-crowd-paying-to-watch-a-screen deal.
That being said, the one place where I think you could totally justify it, would be as basically a segue match during a PPV where you'd put it up on the screen while setting up for an elaborate gimmick match or cleaning up after an elaborate gimmick match or a particularly messy street fight.

Assuming this article is even remotely accurate he works out between three and six hours per day and eats between five and seven meals per day. Again, if accurate, it's quite easy to believe that everything – including making movies – comes second to his gym/bodybuilding regimen. That sounds about right, I recall an article about Rocky IV/Rambo III era Stallone which was probably him at HIS biggest, where it was something like at *minimum* two hours in the morning before the shoot and then two hours in the evening afterwards.

I'm trying to think, when did Rock abruptly get really (physically) huge again? I want to say it was *at least* by the time he was in Pain and Gain which was 2013. I also recall him being still pretty well-regarded when Moana came out in 2016. Not for nothing, but I do wonder if there's any correlation at all since all these behavioral things seem to have popped up AFTER he pretty much doubled in size. Whether because of whatever supplements he might be taking or just straight-up gym addiction which is more of a thing than I feel like people realize.
Like, the biggest question for me is, what is he actually doing during those 8+ hours of not showing up? If he's literally in the gym for the bulk of that, it would certainly go at least part of the way towards explaining, though obviously this is all just spitballing.

There's an ice cream parlor in the little beach town in Virginia that we'd go to, who used to have this gimmick with something called the Round-Up, which was something like five scoops of ice cream with three toppings and whipped cream and a cherry, and it was like if you ate the whole thing solo, you got your money back and got your picture on the wall. Place used to be covered with Polaroids. It's still on the menu, but last time I was there it looks like they had ditched the challenge, alas.

What role will Kota Ibushi play? Honestly, for as rusty and underwhelming as he's been in his handful of AEW appearances so far, I'd almost rather he just hold off on doing anything and rehab concurrently with Kenny so they can be back and ready to go at the same time.

As an AEW Original, it would make sense for him to fight against The Elite. He'd prolly end up making Okada brain damaged. It's almost like the opposite of how Heath Slater and to a certain extent 2point0 have had reputations for being safe enough to be the kid gloves handling legend matches.

Honestly, for as fun as the Inner Circle was in early AEW, it's kind of flabbergasting how pretty much nobody from the original version has been able to carry any of that momentum, through extenuating circumstances or otherwise. You've got everything with Santana & Ortiz, Hager's pretty much at the point in his career where he's either going to be a stable enforcer or off TV, and Sammy is just... probably the most painfully stale Year 1 AEW guy who's changed things up less than even Jericho has.
He needs either a change of scenery or something, anything, to freshen him up, whether it's a non-Jericho tag partner or bringing back the damn panda head.

I'd love it to be a thing where anybody with a more elaborate entrance or that usually plays to the crowd more, still does all that instead of, y'know, running to the ring ASAP, and while they're mucking around, someone hits an instakill finisher and by the time they realize what's just happened, it's over. Especially if commentary has played up the whole "new entrants can break up pins" and so on and so forth.
It can then be the sort of thing that other wrestlers and backstage interviewers and Tony Schiavone can repeatedly point out that "hey if you had actually hustled to the ring..."

By game show standards, the original Press Your Luck only being 3 years, when arguably most of its pop culture legacy came from being rerun on USA for close to a decade afterwards.

I want a wheelchair, I want a neck brace, I want him bandaged up head-to-toe like the Yet-ay. Oh please, they've got enough money they can at least afford a Captain Pike-style electronic model with the beep-once-for-yes-twice-for-no sort of thingy.

I've really got no horse in this game, but it's kind of fascinating seeing the "good, I'm not going to miss it" responses in this thread, especially when I think to probably the last time that the 'E had really scaled back on pyro. Feel like that was also... Ryback-era, and folks were complaining about missing how pyro made things feel like a big deal and so on and so forth.

Right now my audio is like how I imagine it would sound to drop acid and then wander through Munich Oktoberfest.

This is going to be one of those shows that TK apologizes about and ends up getting him like the slot before Collision to rerun Dynamite with proper audio, isn't it?
