It's always the low rated Dynamite's that have the numbers in the title lol.

Tony needs to introduce crunch culture to the company. I know he can do it but we have to get these numbers up.

It's because I didn't watch. I've let everyone down again.

Last year same week was 817,000 viewers and a 0.28.
Some on the Meltzer boards are attributing the sharper decline this year to the airing of the Punk footage. Viewership dropped around 10% in the 5 weeks since the airing as compared to the 5 weeks before, whereas last year viewership in that same timeframe dropped 5% (likely the effect of NBA playoffs).
Not sure I buy that, though.

As of last week I already had my post for this thread planned, but it seems I have forgotten it.
... JUST AS THIS WRETCHED CIRCUS SHALL BE FORGOTTEN WHEN THE SANDS OF TIME ERODE AWAY ALL MEMORY OF WHAT THIS TRAVESTY ONCE WAS. Nothing shall stand of this vain empire when all is said and done, cities turned to dust and nothing of spectacular note left for the archaeologists of the future to find. AEW shall leave nothing in sand or in mind or in dirt, all of this air expelled in these dying days for little purpose other than to exist for its final struggling moments, stubbornly refusing to accept the inevitable.

I think there are more factors to it - there has to be - but the general consensus over various platforms was that no matter how AEW spun it, airing that Punk footage was a dumb move. It has surely turned people off the product. Again, there will be other factors, but it is a marked point.

Not sure I buy that, though. I would say it's because cable is dropping as a whole, as evidenced by dynamite doubling the demo of all non sport shows, but that would be a rational take.

We’re talking percentage drop though, not raw viewership, so that wouldn’t be applicable. Obviously the raw viewership is a much larger drop than last year because of the loss of cable.

Seems like all of tv was massively down so might now be any more to it than that.
Interesting to me is that the demo stayed largely the same despite the decrease.
AEW has put out a good product lately, just have to stay the course and not panic. Worse thing AEW could do it try to pop the numbers.
Also would highly recommend avoiding other places for discussing this unless you want to lose brain cells.

I feel the mistake last night was having Dax and Okada main event and the overrun being close to 15 mins long, they couldve gotten 5th place...

I do think there’s a bit of a delayed negative effect of all the Punk drama that is just starting to really be felt now.
The show’s been really good lately. I think the company just needs to stay the course and things will stabilize.

It was a really good show. So IDK what else they could have done?
